I ordered my 2012 iv today from Emporia Motors (KS). They have been straight with me concerning the updates from Toyota, and were willing to include my car in their first 2012 order. It is just a plain iv, blizzard pearl -- no sunroof option. After their "administration fee" (not negotiable), it came in at 28,605 (+ sales tax). That is less than I would have paid for a similarly equipped 2011, plus I get entune and the power seats. He is throwing in floor mats. I know I could have cut a deal on a 2011, but not this time. This time I'm getting what I want. I sold my 2001 Prius in 2008 for more than it was worth, and I've been driving my husband's Honda Accord since then. It is a good car, it just isn't MY car. It should be in in February. Anticipation is part of the pleasure.
Sharo: Congrats on your Purchase. Hope you can hold out until the vehicle finally arrives. I have an '11 Blizzard Pearl Four. No Sunroof or Nav. I think for '12, you will get a backup camera, not sure if its on the dash screen or rear view mirror. Did you get Nav, I don't think so from the price shown? Keep us posted.
'plain' Four must come with display audio and navigation (same as the Three). IOW, if '12 Three gets nav, you know the Four will. But the Four gets power seat and Softex over the Three. What's interesting is the 2011 Four w/nav is $30,460 (w/ destination) according to pricing announced on 2012, Four is $28,995 with destination (no mats). ... so, the 2012 is about $1500 less and still has nav. I'm guessing the Softex is lot less expensive than 'leather' in the 2011. The loss of JBL in plain Four is a factor too. I think there will be - 1 - Two 2 - Threes (plain, with solar roof) 2 Fours (plain, HDD nav + solar roof) 2 Fives (plain, HDD nav) Based on pricing chart, there's no way all Fives get HDD nav. They said there was going to be 7 distinct package cars, 1+2+2+2 = 7
Nav and the backup camera are standard in the IV as is an 8 way power seat and Entune. The solar package has upgraded audio (that means little to me), and we didn't order that. I have some neck and back issues that make the back up camera necessary. The price is under that of a IV (2011) with nav. Even the dealership was surprised when they got the numbers. Sharol
Re: 2012 4 ordered (update 1/6) My salesman called to tell me that my car is "on the boat" and on the way. Now to see how long it takes to get here. (the midwest)
Re: 2012 4 ordered (update 1/6) If you can allready order the 2012,why is toyota.com stiil showing the "old" model ? Isn´t it time for a change by now ? Same thing here in germany, you can allready order the 2012 but i don´t trust the pre-info the dealers have ! I would probably be disapointed ich i ordered it in -winter-gray- only to find out later, when the official brochure is out,i could have ordered it in -sea glass pearl- which would be my favorite color ! Hope you don´t have to wait so long !
Congratulations on your purchase! It sure will be an eager wait, but it will come sooner than you think. Enjoy your ride!
