Which bike rack are you doing to carry. I'd like to get a yakima hold up, but can't done anything yet. (Just took delivery yesterday!)

Anyone thought about roof racks? I'm not crazy about the clips but I'm less keen having holes drilled into my roof. The one thing I am missing about my subaru outback is the factory roof rack.

The hitch from juiced hybrid is a class I hitch. You could place a bike rack into it without any problems. I use a small cargo carrier and also have a small utility trailer that works fine too! Best of luck!

I have a Sportsworks / Thule rack which requires a 2" receiver. I can't seem to find one yet. Is there areason for that? Other than you shouldnt haul a giant boat with the Prius.

Would my warranty be affected if I installed a 2" instead of 1.25"?

I guess I may have to sell my rack and rebuy.

You can always buy an adapter to convert from one to the other.

Well, I would not recommend Juiced Hybrid just yet. I put my order more than 2 weeks ago when I saw this post and saw it is "in stock" on their website. I called them after one week my order not been updated, I was then told it is under"testing" and will be ready to ship in a week. I waited another week and called, the story became this hitch is under "production" and will take at least one more week before they can ship it out. Worse thing is when I wanted to cancel it, I was told the person dealing with cancel is not available, and the person answered my call is unwilling to pass on my very simple request for refund. So after more than 2 and half weeks, the item is not there, and I may have to call my bank to get my money back. Very disappointed. So would not recommend.

I just installed a NEW set of horns from PIAA, bought from Amazon. The package includes TWO horns..one 500HZ the other 600HZ, and two ground wires. Each horn has two male plugs and factory attached brackets.

I don't like my stock horn at all. The new horn(s) have a nice European sound to it (like a Ferrari) and MUCH more audible! Installation took only half an hour. with no crimping or cutting of any wires!

Here is how I did it..

First open the hood, take off the plastic cover around the hood latch, used a 11mm wrench to take off the old horn bracket (Prius has two horns, one on each side).
I detached the stock wire bundle that is clamped to a plate in front of the radiator (to have more slack to work with). I then remove the single female wire plug that is attached to each horn.
I then plugged the stock wire plug from the old horns into the new horn's plug (It fits perfectly). I attached the supplied ground wire to the horn's other male plug and the other end to the previously mentioned bolt (Gound). I then finished up by attaching the new horns into the same existing hole/location as the old ones using the same 11mm bolt.
Lastly, I zip-tied the wire bundle securely and replaced the plastic cover and honked my new horn(s). ;)

Would you mind sharing with me how you install the rack? I would love to get one for my 2012 Prius, but I tend to lack skills.

Does the Prius already have holes to use to mount the hitching system?

1st mod: the day I got it...medium grey window tint all the way around.

2nd mod: This one is a huge improvement on the dim yellow interior lighting, I installed super bright LED's...both map, dome, cargo area and lower front door, MUCH BETTER !
Complete plug and play set was around 50 bucks...Here's the link
    http://store.ijdmtoy.com/

3rd mod: Like Cactus, I upgraded the wimpy OEM horns, I used the Fiamm Freeway Blasters purchased from Pep Boys, one high pitch and one low. Installation is super easy and took about 15 minutes, I used the stock mounting brackets. The improvement over stock is huge, a 40 dollar mod well worth it.

4th mod: OEM wheel center caps, you'll need them when and if you remove the plastic Frisbee wheel covers.
    Here's the part # for a 2012 v Three.
42603-52110... $ 60.90 out the door at my local dealer.

    Future mod...Motegi Racing 17" black wheels MR121
    Have a look...

Holy crap, those are bright... Got pictures of how it looks all around with your car? I might just entertain the idea of modifying my car's lights a little.

Very easy took 20 minutes for the kit..just remove and replace. The rear cargo area was the most difficult because I couldn't figure out how to pop light housing out..

I finally figured it out...Using a small flat-head driver, you have to pry it out from the right side as you pull out the housing.

I thought swapping out the horn was a triumph of technology over reason until I actually pushed it and realized it sounded like a shriner clown car! Followed your lead and did the same and what a difference! I may try the semi-truck air horn this summer as I think that would be pretty funny!

The LED upgrade was an awesome idea as well!! Did that this weekend and it is amazing how well lit the cargo area is now.

My next project is that sissy gearshift and somehow upgrading those amber footwell lights to blue.

    Ideas?

    Thanks Cactus!
