I have a 2012 Prius v Trim 5 with Advanced Tech Package (with the upgraded 7" Nav System). In my other car, we have a 3rd party Pioneer Nav System and you can search for a destination by the name of the place (i.e. Starbucks, or Houston's Restaurant, etc). I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this with the factory nav in my Prius. Is this even possible? If so, how do you do it? Any help would be appreciated! I'm sorry if this has been posted before. I did a search and could not find anything. Thanks!
DEST --> Point of Interest --> Name. That's the way I use it if I want to search for a business name.
No you can't do a manual search of that depth in motion, only search for specific POIs by voice. You can access favorite POI categories, but it's only the usual two pages when moving.
Is there a way, while in motion, to search for specific places by name using the Voice Recognition? I have tried this by pressing the Voice button and saying "Find POI Name" or "Destination Name" and many other series of voice commands, but nothing has worked. Any insights anyone?
You can say "Find Nearby Starbucks" as one example. It will work for the POI categories you see when you do a manual search. You can also say something like "Find Nearby Dining" to get a general list of restaurants for example.
