Got my HIDs in today and spent a few hours installing them this afternoon. I didn't think the relays were required when installing the 35w kit, but I was wrong so I had to go back and redo it with the relays. No pun intended, but it's a night and day difference. Couldn't be happier with the Volt system. I did manage to break one of the three tabs off of the bulb when installing on the passenger side (man that bulb is a beast!) Also used some carbon fiber film to switch out my emblems as well. Thought I'd share a few pics. The Volts are on sale for $98 if anyone is interested.
You are missing the most important shots of all. The wall shot! How can you have a before and after thread without those?
OK, I understand what the relay does but how and where did you hook it up under the hood for the positive side/power connection. Please show pic or location. I saw someone else do it but still not clear to me. Which kit did you go with? Thanks.
F8L, didn't know the wall shot was that important : ) GaR619, I went with the 4300 HID Kit. RRG, I used this diagram that I got from searching for "Hid Install" on this forum. It was a lot of help and made it much simpler trying to do the install myself.
I like the setup. 4300K and 35W with relay. I understand the wiring picture. If you had to guess, how much increased light do you see? In percentage like 30% or more than 50% than OEM. Thx.
