Took delivery of my Prius Nov. 21, 2009. Today is Nov. 20, 2010, and these figures are through the tank I bought today.

Total Mileage on Vehicle: 19,543 miles
Total Mileage This Year: 19,333 miles (210 miles on ODO when purchased)
    Fuel Economy (MFD): 48.7 mpg
    Fuel Economy (Calc'd): 46.3 mpg
Total Amount of Fuel Purchased: 417.4 US gallons

    Close to 80% interstate-type driving

Roughly the first half year (late fall 09-early spring 10) 44.8 mpg
Roughly the second half year (late spring-early fall 10) 48.0- mpg

Both warmer weather and learning accounted for the better second half result, even though I'm still well below average on mpg in this crowd. I'm still frequently at 70 mph or a bit faster.

When I saw the survey I went out to grab my notebook.
Miles traveled-15421; Fuel used-284 US Gallons, MFD consistent at 2.1 over on average 56.4.
Fuel mileage calculated-54.3 I do about 70% City driving.

Here are my 2nd Anniversary figures.

    Miles: 28522 Total / 14227 This Year
MPG on MID: 56.4 Total / 57.6 this year
MPG at pump: 52.9 Total / 53.6 this year
MID display error: 6.6% Total / 7.5% this year
Fuel purchased: 539.3 gallons Total / 265.3 this year

Graph - the Red line, a weighted 7 tank average (improved from last year's post), is more useful than the noisy individual tank line. The seasonal variation is very plainly visible.

Remarks: The first 10000 miles were an inconsistent mix of long road trips and local driving while not employed. A regular commute pattern started at about 10000 miles -- a Subaru gets the very worst driving weather, a bicycle gets the very best, and the Prius gets everything in between.

Commutes are 34 to 40 miles round trip, with route selection depending on traffic conditions. Longest is 90% highway with 1700 feet gross elevation climb and produces the lowest mpg. Shortest is all city, 2400 feet gross climb, and highest mpg. Net climb, of course, is zero.

I don't know about the weather for each of the season but there's a general improving trend for both seasons (summer/winter) as the odometer rises.

Total Amount of Fuel Purchased: <230 US gallons, 870 litres>

Remarks: 40% highway (very hilly), 60% city (very hilly as well) - I hardly manage to drive on flat roads. Winters in Munich are often below 0C and summers are often "fresh" around 24C or less, with at most 1-2 weeks at 30C. If Temp is lower than 7C on a consistent basis, winter tires are mounted.

Second full year (2010-2011) will be added in Sept.

Remarks: Used midgrade fuel for two trips across the Rockies. Not as cold as last year but I think it was snowier and a cool spring and summer less A/C use. I was surprised that I travelled fewer kilometres this year. (~2,500km less)

Total Amount of Fuel Purchased: 361 gallons

Remarks: Record temperatures both winter and summer. Still maintained 48 mpg average. Installed new Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires about a month ago and mpg took an immediate ~ 5 mpg hit and average dropped to 47.8. MPG slowly returning back to normal as tires wear in and temperature begins to cool.

Missed the second year anniversary mark, unfortunately:
For two yrs plus about two months:
My result, for a bit over 2 years (late Nov 2009-mid Jan 2012):

    Miles driven:42527 miles
    Fuel economy MFD: 49.4
Fuel economy (calculated): 47.0 mpg or a hair less
    Fuel purchased: 905.1 gal

Subtracting out first year figures (below), my second year plus 2 mo. is:
    Miles driven: 23194
    Fuel economy (calculated): 47.5 mpg
    Fuel purchased: 487.7 gal

Total Mileage This Year: 22874.1 miles
    Fuel Economy (MFD): 62.8 mpg
    Fuel Economy (Calc'd): 59.4 mpg
Total Amount of Fuel Purchased: 757.2 gallons

    Best Mileage = 70.0 MFD, 66.4 Calc'd, 678.7 miles on 10.225 gallons on 9/30/2011
    Worst Mileage = 56.1 MFD, 51.8 Calc'd, 494.7 miles on 9.550 gallons on 1/11/2011

    Year 1 vs Year 2
    Mileage Year 1 = 22095.9
    Mileage Year 2 = 22874.1

Fuel Economy calc Year 1 = 58.1 MPG
Fuel Economy calc Year 2 = 60.7 MPG

    Fuel purchased Year 1 = 380.1 gallons
    Fuel purchased Year 2 = 377.1 gallons

Money for gas Year 1 = $1262.63 (US)
Money for gas Year 2 = $1516.47 (US)

Remarks: Tried grill blocking for the first time, around November of 2011. My "winter" (Nov - Mar) mileage maintained in the upper 50's to low 60's mpg. Year 1 (without grill blocking) my mileage during that time frame was mid 50's. I'm "missing" about 500 miles from the car, due to missing data (such as when the 12 volt battery was replaced and wiped out the trip A and trip B data).

Annualized fuel savings over a car that gets 23 mpg: $1,258 (based on an average of $3.28 per gallon actually paid)

Mostly short commutes to/from work (about 12 miles each way) and longer drives on the weekends. Occasional 150 mile round trips to visit the parents. Here's a per tank mpg graph for two years:
