Hey, Sac Raceway. Went there one weekend in 2002. Was 105 F on that Friday, yikes!

My brother lives out that way in Wyoming. You'll probably want a good set of snow tires, since I've heard DelDuh doesn't do too well plowing down there, unless you're right on a main road. They don't do much better up here, either lol.

my brother just offed his F350 for a prius.

runs to home depot?... easy. get a trailer.. that's why i have a 5x8 trailer... (i use it all the time)... while towing i've never dipped below 29mpg (twice as good as any truck in city). sometimes my average goes up since i cruise a little more with a trailer.. less of those jackrabbit starts... my high while towing was 48mpg.

in fact... i think my trailer is better than a truck... because my trailer is a true 5x8.. while trucks have wheel cutouts in the bed which makes it smaller in center... don't put sheetrock on those humps....

i've moved many many trips... a short list: 1300ft worth of pipe insulation (stacked 4 ft high), a piano, a work bench that's 10x3 and weighs 800 or so lbs (couldn't get that into the back of a truck if your life depended on it)... and so much more.. from wood to concrete. i'd share photos but my pics are on my phone and i don't feel like pulling them to this computer and then storing them online to share... (i do email though! so pics if requested)

I gave up my Pathfinder and just bought a used 2010 on Monday. I truly enjoy driving my Prius. I thought that I would regret it, but I would not give up my 50 mpg for anything. People at work make fun of me until I asked them if they are able to get to work and back home in one gallon of gas...

My wife has a 2011 Nissan Rogue. I am going to get a hitch put on it and get a small trailer. I agree, it's probably going to be better than the truck and have more room. Since my truck had a small bed on it. Plus, I can park the trailer and use it when needed.
I don't want to put a hitch on the Prius, I've been told that it can do damage . Her Rogue is rated for 1,000 lbs.

I am not far from Wyoming at all. And you are right, they do not do a good job. The main roads are ok.
But I have learned, if you drive slow and easy it isn't that hard to get through.

It's great reading all the replies and seeing I am not the only one to give up the truck. I have learned with the Prius, that the MPG reading in the car computer is about 5-8 MPG off. It shows me averaging about 58 MPG, and when I refueled I calculated about 52 MPG. Still though, nothing to cry about. My truck got about 19 to 21 MPG. So I am happy!!!

I tried to give up the truck put could not
just carry to much stuff for work

it was a great time to buy a pick up,
I got a loaded Chevy extended cab 4x4 ( leather, 10 way heated power seats, re mote start and more), listed at $49gs for $32gs with 3% money
Cheaper then the Prius we have
    Prius avg is 4.7 l/100km
    Chevy avg is 15.2 l/ 100 km

when I did use the Prius every space was used up, things were almost on top of me
in the truck everything has it place and it is quiet in the cab

LOL.. Gave up the SRT8 for the Prius, and the truck for the Volt. Guess more and more people are coming around than I thought. Was starting to think I was one of few. Welcome to being a Prius owner!

I keep my truck parked(Dodge Ram 3500). It cost to much to operate. 160,000 miles on a 2006 Prius, I'm still satisfied. You can't beat the low cost of ownership.

Before I bought my 89 beater truck, the Prius was my hauler :) 17 boxes of Brazilian Cherry hardwood flooring (pic shows 14) + my wife and I. Travelled about 25 miles no problem. You wouldn't believe how much stuff you can pack in with the seats down...

I guess this cancels out all the dire warnings of not trailering a Prius, and this is a 2004 at that! If you get a chance I would like to see a picture of your trailer. Probably if you keep the tongue weight to 100lbs or less, the Prius can handle it. :cheer2:
