Wondering if anyone locally has some OEM 17" Prius wheels that are sitting around in the garage. Thanks!

Go to discount tire.com. Look up MoMo winter s wheels. About $100 each. 17x7". Far cheaper than the $300-400 the dealer wants for factory 17".

I have the same car as you(2010 though) I am switching to the 15" oems as my wife isn't quite so excited about the 17s . These are Enkei with Bridgestone Ecopia 215/45R17 (the gas saver ones). (87W) from tire rack.the wheels weigh just a bit more than the OEMs. I was concerned about any possible mileage hit. the package was about 2000.00 over a year ago . The tires have about 60% tread. Hers is the link to tire rack

Think they are called Momo Winter S rims. Alloy for sure. 17x7" so they'll fit a bit better without rubbing problems like a 7.5" rim. They are supposedly designed for winter weather and resist corrosion a bit better than others. Make sure you do your research before buying. You may need to buy TPMS related parts and it seems that you definitely need to have dealer either install them or at least calibrate the TPMS or the warranty may be voided as well as having to deal with a warning light/ beeper ( already need to deal with that annoying backup beeper!!!). Unless a great deal lands in my lap, I personally will wait a bit longer. Sure those small skinny tires look a little goofy but I really do like the nicer ride and better mileage ( am I getting old? ). I remember years ago I upgraded wheels on a celica from 14" to 15" ( back then 15" was pretty big ) and the ride suffered more than I expected. Little annoying things like the coins in the coin tray would rattle when they never did before ( I'm definitely getting old ) and the dash would creak and moan. Goodluck!

I have a set of 18s for this car, brand new in box. These are made for Prius only, hubcentric and lightweight., 18x7.0 + 50. I am located in OC, Lake Forest. You can come take a look. I'll sell them at cost. These are imported from Japan, they look really good and are rare, not a cheaply made wheel. Made by WEDS Japan for the Prius. Let me know.

Most of the aftermarket wheels are made from aluminum, very few are steel, only the blackies with hubcaps are made from steel. Some use cheap casting processes that weigh more than stock, very few aftermarket wheels are ligther in weight than the factory. The factory wheels are Prius specific and most of the aftermarket wheels are designed for a large spectrum of vehicles and car weights. So WEDS, Enkei and Volk would probably be best for most Prius, but the major problem is cost, these bad boys aren't cheap.
