We already have a 2007 Prius that my wife loves. Great gas mileage and plenty of interior space. Now I am looking at maybe buying a 2010 Prius. It is used with 31000 miles on it. It is the Prius II model. I think it is the stock model II. It will need tires in the near future as it has the factory ones still on it. What would be a good price for me to get it for? Is it worth paying for a Carfax on it? Thanks, Glenn
Always a good idea to get as much information as possible... perhaps you can post the VIN and someone with a subscription can run it for you. Good luck!

Yes get a carfax. I have a 2010 with 47,000 miles and i think it should be worth around 15,000 or so in a private sale. So that would be 8 grand less than a new one.
depends on how much you are looking to spend. Right now, some dealers are selling 10's for as much as the new 11's (which if you buy, then you have too much money and not enough brains.) I got mine from Sandy Springs. Worth the 1.5 hour drive to save 3k. Right now, they have the best prices in the state for a new Prius and the other dealers won't even match their price. BTW, ask for Moses and tell em I sent you (could use the referral fee )
I just purchased a 2010 II with 15K miles for $20,000 here in MN. I did not see where you mentioned if you were buying from a dealer or private party? Find NADA, Black Book, and KBB prices to compare. It is worth comparing the price to new. Up here I could only get a new 2011 for $23,000-23,500, so saving the $3000-3500 was worth the 15K miles. Good Luck.
Yes I guess getting the Carfax info would be a good idea. I don't think it would be good to post a VIN on a public forum though. However if someone would like to run a Carfax report for me, PM me. Thanks, Glenn
Thanks for the info but I am looking for a lower model. Don't need navigation for one thing. Thanks, Glenn
Thanks for the info. I would be happy paying $15k but they are asking a bit more. It does have less miles than yours. I am still looking, not in any rush. Thanks, Glenn
Thanks. They are asking $17,000 and it has just over 31,000 miles on it. So I guess their price is in the right range from what I have seen here. Thanks, Glenn
Well I am trying to buy a used Prius from an individual to avoid paying sales tax here in Georgia. Thanks for the info and if I decide to look at new 11's I will check out Sandy Springs. Glenn
FWIW, I just bought a Blizzard 2010 model II with 53K miles for $15,400. I thought that deal was alright, but I think $17,000 for 31K miles sounds better.
