After almost two years of looking, waiting, and studying, I purchased my first Prius yesterday. It's an '07 Touring with 99K miles (I know, a little high), but it was a great deal and the car has a perfect history. Anyway, the reason I'm posting is to tell all of you how much help this forum was to me as I was learning about the Prius. I've never been much of a "car person," but thank to you all I have more Prius-related info than I can keep in my brain. (I had to bookmark a bunch of pages. ) I'll probably be a lurker here, but I had to express my appreciation to everyone who took the time to make this forum such a fantastic reference for people like me.
Congratulations. This forum has a good group of people behind it. Don't be afraid to participate. Tom
Congrats on the car. Trust us, 100k miles is nothing. Thanks for speaking up and reminding us why we keep this site moving along.
You'll find very friendly and knowledgeable people here who will give you plenty of help in keeping your car running perfectly for another 100,000 and more. Prius is a very reliable vehicle. Welcome, you've discovered a great community.
Welcome from the other side of the pond and like other people have said get involved it will be appreciated.
Let me explain: In 1936, Dr. Ferdinand Porsche built the first Beatle In the 1940's, factory workers hand-built the second Beatle In the 1970's, VW shipped a third design, the Cabriolet In 1999, VW shipped the New Beatle Prius is the Fifth Beatle. The ultra-reliable, brilliantly-designed economical car for people who believe that personal transportation doesn't need to consume vast amounts of resources. We think differently, we get laughed at, but we're right and everybody else is catching up. (Or maybe the guy really is Pete Best!)
