First of all I would like to thank all the posters on this site. You have made it possible for me to make a well informed decision. I purchased a Blue Ribbon v5AT with dark grey interior the day before Thanksgiving. While in So. California I noticed that there were very few Barcelona Red and Blue Ribbon vees in So. Cal (actually in the entire state). I was wondering what colors folks were buying and why the dealers aren't ordering these colors. So, what's your flavor?
We also bought the day before Thanksgiving. We bought the Blizzard Pearl because we like light colors. We just LOVE how it sparkles in the sun! We also noticed here in CA that the Blue Ribbon, Red Barcelona and even the Blizzard Pearl are rare. :cheer2:
I'm in northern California and when we were shopping for our Prius v in early Nov we did not see one Blue Ribbon or Barcelona Red in the 5 dealerships we either went to or contacted. Black, Grey, and Silver by far the most prevalent. Sky Blue and Blizzard Pearl were available but I'd at about 1/4 the number in terms of inventory. We had to ask our dealer to procure our Blizzard Pearl from another dealership for us. By the time we made our purchase in mid Nov, there was finally one Blue Ribbon we were notified about, but we already purchased ours at a different dealership.
We're waiting for our Barcelona Red. Quite frankly I think Toyota needs to get a little more creative when it comes to colors... red, white, blue and gray are getting a little old.
I managed to get a red one with dark grey interior (v3). The dealer here in Atlanta did a dealer trade to get it for me.
I bought a Blizzard Pearl from the first shipment of v's to hit the Washington, DC area. Color selection was limited... I would have preferred a silver, but the pearl is nice.
Same in Boston: dealer had one v III in metallic grey and a V 5 in the other gray. We took the III without much concern for the color, though I do agree that Toyota could up the ante with the colors: 4 choices from white to black and then two others? really?
My husband and I got a Barcelona Red Prius V. The dealer we bought our Prius from had Red and Blue V's on the lot this was in Washington State.
We went with Blizzard Pearl. I have owned 2 black cars, 2 dark navey blue cars and one maroon truck. While I think hands down dark coloured cars look much better when they are clean they only stay that way for about 2 days and you notice every little nic scratch swirl and stone chip. Wanted a change to a little more freindly paint colour. Still find it odd walking out to a white car after 16 years of driving very dark vehicles but I like it none the less.
Classic Silver replaced my silver 2010 Prius, doesn't look dirty as fast with all the rain here in Oregon.
We just ordered our second Prius --- in Canada its called the Touring ann Technology package. Replacing our Barcelona Red 2006 with a new one Barcelona Red. Maybe with our white snow we just need some colour to warm up the winters.
