I've been wanting to get rid of the ugly antenna on my car since I bought it. I liked the shark fin but listen to a lot of FM radio and wasn't willing to take any more of hit on the already lousy reception. I'd seen a number of these on e-Bay so I thought I'd give one a try. They're made really well, anodized aluminum and carbon fiber, and come in a bunch of colors. I really like the low profile look (they're only 3" tall). No change (+ or -) in the radio reception. Just do a search on "Prius carbon antenna" on e-Bay and you'll find them.
Which one did you actually purchase? As you say, if you search eBay you come up with a complete list of antenna's. I like your solid black one and would prefer to get the one that you have already tested
Other than being shorter, I don't see it as any less unattractive. But, I don't think the stock antenna is that bad.
I ordered one, I think this may take abuse from a car wash better, maybe not, time will tell, 10 bucks though, looks good.
I just checked the TRD catalogue and could not find it. It looks a little pricy. Does it improve reception? Where can we find one?
looks similar to the OEM... I would like one that gives better reception... I'm suprised at how lousy the OEM attenna is with reception.
