Just bought my first Prius last night. 2011 Prius III, Winter grey with dark grey cloth interior. Pretty basic, all standard options and floor mats. Paid $24,243 including all fees except tax, tags and dmv fees. Had a choice between $1000 rebate with 3.99 APR or 0% for 60 months. In the end, they were about the same (total loan interest was the same as the rebate- I only financed half of the price), so I took the 0% instead of the rebate. Bought it using Carwoo's service. I really liked it. I felt I got a better deal with a much easier experience than if I'd have walked on to the lot directly. Particularly great for people who aren't good negotiators like me and you can remain anonymous w/o giving out any personal info to the bidders.
I will be buying a new 2011 Toyota Prius on Monday (just two days away now) for about $28,000 (after taxes). It will be a package #3 with navigation system (but no sun/solar roof). It will also include illuminated doorsills. I got a few discounts as well...including $300 off for finding a similar vehicle at a near-by dealership, $150 knocked off for the homelink rear-view mirror, and a $500 rebate that Toyota is offering in November. Pretty pumped to be getting a new car. I've owned two Prii in the past (a 2004 and a 2009), but both have had misfortunes of being totaled in a flood and in a serious car accident (respectively).
After calling a bunch of dealers around the country I've seen some regional issues regarding prices. Virginia likes to leave out things like destination shipping ~750. California has crazy high taxes~8.25-8.75. Florida and the south east all buy from some distributor that raises price floor by ~350. When comparing make sure it's apples to apples.
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be secretive. Like I mentioned in my own thread, almost every dealership in nor ca was willing to go w the same exact price, but I have friends that live in San Fran, so I went w this dealership. I bought mine from Toyota of San Francisco though I live in LA. The prices here are higher and if any dealer was within 1k of meeting it, they acted like they were doing me a giant favor. Heh! No thx! If you buy from out of state, I'd look into any fees associated w that.
Greetings all! We just bought a 2012 Prius V iii - silver with dark grey interior. NO ONE is negotiating in San Antonio, Austin, Houston or Dallas by internet. Walked into a local dealer today to set eyes on one and ended up bying for just under invoice at $27900. We love it so far. Superior room - interior design from just behind front seat to tail gate is exceptional. Plenty of leg room, nice reclining seats etc. The center stack control is taking some getting used to but we are having fun getting synched up with Toyota app to run the options. Getting 45-47 mpg for now (traded in a Honda Element that got 20.5 whether you floored it or feathered it).
Excellent deal. There's not a lot of price fluctuation as far as I can see between 2007-2008 models. In fact I'm seeing some 2009s go for about above $16,900 in the midwest. Go to 2010 and everything changes. I just bought a 2007 with twice as much mileage for about a $1,000 less. Had it only for 2 weeks. Really really nervous about this winter driving people keep talking about.
Just purchased my first Prius... Debated between a new or used but then found a used 2010 II w/ 15k miles for $20,000 before TTL. Traded my thursty Pathfinder and now enjoy 50 mpg... Simply amazing. Snow tires and grill block complete, so I'm ready for winter. I love driving the car everyday.
Umm brand new 2011 are going for less than $22k now. But congrats! Car is great no matter what the price is!
If I was able to get a 2011 for 22k I would have jumped, but up here the cheapest you can get a 2011 is 23k....... During my research I found that the prices up here were much higher than other places and I dont know why.
Where are you finding Prius cars for less than 22K? Everyone I shop with has told me the best I could do is 22750 (mats included)!
Not really, The best Ive been able to do here in FLA is just under 23 (22900) not counting taxes & fees.
Mossy Toyota in San Diego is selling a Prius II for 21,777 advertised on the net. You can use this price to negotiate a slightly better deal at another dealership, like adding bluetooth, mats, rear bumper protector etc.
I have to buy 2 prius' for my self and my gf. I bought hers already..got a 2009 with 48k miles for 14000. That was a great deal I thought. Im looking for a 2011 new one for my self..cant get near the CA prices but got a quote for 22190 that is best so far. May have to buy a used one for my self as well..
You read correctly, there are quite a few dealerships in Northern California where you could get a Prius II for <22k (before TTL of course).
I DEALER WANTED 16500 BOUGHT A 2006 PACKAGE 8 MINT COND. 65000 MILES LAST YEAR FOR 12895 these cars are not hurt by mileage.I DON'T KNOW WHY HE CAME DOWN SO. lOCAL SALESMAN HAD A ROUTE IN TN,GA.ALA. mUCH LIKE 2FASFORYOU I FELT REALLY REALLY LUCKY,
Hi newbie here. I actually have yet to purchase my prius. The best price I've got so far in socal is a silver/gray 2011 package III with nav for $24k before tax. Should I pull the trigger on this one? I originally didn't make the purchase because I'm looking for winter gray, but I will settle for silver if the price is good.
