Hi all, I'm so anxious about purchasing tomorrow that I feel like I can vomit. But after about a year of planning to buy a prius, and months of constantly checking prices and models, I am finally doing it tomorrow. I'm gettin a brand new 2011 Prius III with nav in blue. I got a GREAT deal of $24,700 because of the black friday toyota $1000 rebate on new toyotas that is going on right now. Wish me luck!
Before you drive 'er off, bring a gage, check those tires to spec, drive it for maybe 25 minutes and hopefully it will be scoring high 40s or 50. On our first test drive, we went out for probably 25 minutes. Reset tripmeter first and the MPG were crawling up through the 30s, 40s, by the time I got back to the lot, it hit 51 mpg. I grinned and said, yep, this things working right. Right now, it's stuck on 55 mpg and that's a lot of suburb driving. Can't wait to see first refill at pump. Look it over up and down, try everything, all seats, you name it. They do a great job building these, so should be no anomalies. Enjoy! My 2009 was the dark blue, they called it Spectra Blue Mica then. Same as Blue Ribbon.
Congrats. I just bought my first Prius this afternoon as well. Got it for about the same price as you, so I'm happy.
Thanks all! Yeah I actually woke up in the middle of the night last night and couldn't get back to sleep. I bought it now and had a great time driving it. I just need to figure out how to get my MPG up! I haven't hit 50 yet. .
Awesome. I might be tough around the Seattle area to get the FE up there. Make sure your tire pressures are up. Also make sure you fill the tank up the same way every time and then take the mileage. The dash meter is off (about 5% generous). Just relax, sit back and enjoy the ride.
Don't sweat the MPG and please don't become a neurotic hyper-miler, you'll drive yourself crazy. Just enjoy the car. PWR mode is best and doesn't hurt MPG that bad.
