Does anyone know if it's possible to install a TV Tuner and DVD player using the existing stock LCD screen?

Any input, resources, DIY's or links to sites on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

Your profile data is wrong. There's no way you could have a 06 Touring model. They didn't start until 07.

You're not going to like my answer, but here goes.

Anything is -possible-. Depending on the year and model it's either easy or very hard. The screen is not really compatible with TV specifications but, it -is- possible.

It's illegal to have a TV or DVD screen in a vehicle that the driver can see. And that is why almost nobody has bothered. But it has been done. To make it legal there would have to be a lockout on it when the vehicle is put in motion.

How easy it is depends on the resolution of your MFD screen. The older, low resolution screen has a standard analog video interface that is an easy connect. The newer higher resolution screen has a digital interface that few have successfully gotten to work with an external source.

You can read some discussion by searching here for "MFD Video"

TV, Yes it can be done, it's illegal with out speed lockout, but hey, it's still a BAD idea!
How about just paying attention to driving while your doing 70, texting, and jabbering on the phone, save watching Jerry Springer until you get home.
Freeway driving conditions are bad enough as is!
Getting rear ended is no fun. Being the fool who caused the wreck is even worse!
Accident attorneys however, will have a great time playing with you!

And you expect nice responses with that attitude?

Yes you can install a DVD player, you just need a lockpick to get the RCA inputs.

His official title is King of Canada. Or was it President? lol

Not sure about the 2006 (it has the higher resolution MFD) but on the 2005 model the Lockpick works fine with a dvd player. I stopped using after a close call when I was distracted by a Shakira music video.

Not all 06-09 models have the higher res MFD. I've been in a very stripped down 07 or 08 (no SKS, no backup camera, no input jack, etc.) that had the old low res graphics.

For someone who hasn't seen the high and low res graphics, supposedly, if one has the backup camera (which became available starting w/06), it's got the high res MFD. For reference, these pics are from mine which has the higher res graphics: https://picasaweb.google.com/105684...authkey=Gv1sRgCP21otyi96btzgE&feat=directlink.
