This is so frustrating! When I switch from AUX to FM, I hear FM with good fidelity for about 1/2 a second, then the fidelity is reduced. By "good fidelity" I mean much better high frequencies. Somehow the equalization or fidelity of FM radio is being reduced when it COULD be much better! I have adjust the BASS/MIDDLE/TREBLE on the AUDIO > SOUND settings to be identical between AUX and FM but the fidelity change remains. Is this some scheme to make me order satellite radio?! Any one know if there is some upgrade to fix this? Thanks, Steve
I too noticed this recently and it seems to be getting worse! The fidelity of the AUX or SAT settings is great. Then when the head unit is switched back to FM - the sound is great for about 5 seconds and then sounds very muffled. There are different audio controls for each function but the difference is readily apparent. Going to inquire with the dealer at next visit but is this a common problem? I have the JBL Nav unit btw.
I noticed the same issue today, plugging a SansaClip into the aux. I have the base 2011 Prius 2, no special radio.
