    Aloha All,

I have a problem with the fit of my drivers side mat. When I install it I put it in flush against the back of the drivers side footwell. IMG_1182.jpg It will stay there for a couple of days and then it migrates forward. It somehow moves forward creating a gap of close to an inch on the backside of the mat between the mat and the back of the floorpan. IMG_1181.jpg I don't know why this happens, too me the mat seems small, I think it could be made bigger. It does not seem like the mat would be able to move with all of those nibs on the bottom.

There is NO INTERFERENCE WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, nor is there a danger of interference.

Is anybody else having this problem? Has anyone contacted HL regarding this matter? I have and they sent me a new drivers side mat, but shortly after putting it in I have the same problem with that one. These pics are of the replacement mat.

I wrote back to HL telling them thank you for sending be a new mat and that I am still having the same problem. They replied saying "I really have no quick solution. We have very few issues with liners moving as you have described. I can offer to purchase them back from you if that is an acceptable solution." I have not responded back yet I wanted to see if this is an isolated incident or if others are having the same problem. I don't think I will get rid of them an ill fitting mat is better than no mat at all.

    Hi Ed

I don't have the Weatherbeater mats. I have the Toyota factory carpeted mats. I HATE that the passenger side mat has no hook & grommet connector. It constantly rided forward, just as you describe with your Weatherbeater. That leaves a huge gap for crap to collect. And, the mat looks lousy when its riding up the floor. I don't mean to sideline your thread. But, I wanted to share my mat experience.

    Tom G.

Hey Ed - I don't have those particular mats, but I'm pretty surprised they don't have the hole in them to secure them in place. I could think drilling a hole in the back of them and using a cable tie(s) to secure them down, but that's not really a solution you should have to do. I have the weathertech mats, and it has the holes for the little clips to secure them in place.

Best of luck with a solution, though.

    Howdy Dude,

I know the WeatherTechs have holes in order to use the factory retention clips from the stock mats. I recon I could cut/drill holes and install some grommets and try to use the factory retention clips on mine. I would rather not do that though, one of the main reasons I got the Huskies was because they did not have any holes in them. My driveway and parking area is dirt and gravel during our monsoon season it turns to mud. I track allot of mud in to the car when I get out to open the gate or going to and from the car.

    What mats do you have?

Happy Thanksgiving I hope you had a great day. We have had a good day here so far fixing to eat again soon.

I haven;t noticed my mat sliding but it has warped inward about an inch on the right side. I haven't returned it as I'd have to mail back the entire set.

    Hi Ed,

I have the same problem with my Huskys creating a gap. I haven't figured out a solution to overcome it, I just live with it by pulling them back every once in while.

I actually prefer not to put holes in the mat, because I live a in a snowy climate and don't want the snow runoff going into the carpet.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

Cool thank you for your reply! I do not want to put holes my mat either. What I hope to do is get a bunch of legitimate replies to this thread and then send Husky a link to show them I am not the only person having a problem.

I have the weather tech mats in my car. I like them tons more than the OEM "all weather" mats that I got when I got my car. They do have the holes, but I haven't had any issues yet with water getting down under them. The weather tech have the same small warping issue that others have notated on the edges, where the center tends to bend inward but I'm not surprised at that given they're a heavy plastic material.

You could try to get an epoxy and glue a small hook on the outside of the mat and use a cable tie or string to hold it in place. You shouldn't have to do it, but I can't really think of much else to do so you don't have your problem if Husky isn't doing anything to fix the problem.

Have you considered industrial strength Velcro? I would think if you just used it on the underside of the mat the hook & loop half might grip the carpet. I used some in the tour pack of my Harley and it worked great.

Great idea!! And a cheap fix that can easily be removed later without any harm. That same stuff is used on the ez-pass (electronic toll transponder, for those not familiar) to keep it on the windshield and is a pain to try to un-velcro it.

That is another option, or I just leave it as is.

I have not considered Velcro but I would not want to wreck the carpet by sticking the hook side to it. I could see the carpet getting frayed and fuzzy after a couple of mat removals.

It is a good idea I use allot of Velcro in my profession so I am familiar with its capabilities. On my previous vehicle I would use IS Velcro to affix my front plate every year for my state safety inspection.

Could you all post a picture or two for me please? Any other Husky owners please jump on my bandwagon and share your problems or lack there of.

I'm in the same boat. I've got the Husky Liners in my 2010 Prius III, and the driver's side one does tend to creep forward a bit over a few days. It's not a big deal to me - I figure that's the nature of any mat that isn't physically restrained in a more permanent fashion. I agree, if they were a hair bigger, this might not happen, but you never know... There's a lot of forward pressure on there with drivers getting in and out.

Personally, I'd prefer the mat to creep forward than have holes in the bottom for tethers. Nothing worse than using good waterproof mats to protect your car, and then having the salty slush nastiness creep through holes and stain the carpet!

With the recent HL complaints in another thread I figured I would drop a line here and bump this one and clarify what I figured out last time I removed my drivers mat to dump it. I complained about mine sliding forward previously so when I reinstalled it I installed it forward instead of back like I usually do, it had the same gap as before but it did not slide forward. By doing this that just confirms my belief that the mat could be made a little longer.

I would like to invite others to log your HuskyLiner problems here please.

I have the same problem, here's my post from the other husky thread...

I may drill holes to use the factory clips next winter.

Sorry to hear that all of you are having issue with the HL. I have had mine since the end of Aug 11 and have had not of these issues. This past winter we went up to the far north of Alberta and they held out good catching snow and all the other stuff. Maybe some batches are better than other, who knows

I'm having the same issue with my HuskyLiner in my 2011 Prius. They do slide forward about an inch or so. Seems like if they would just make it a little longer that would correct the issue. I'm going to try the Velcro idea to see if that helps keep the liner from moving forward.

I have them in my 2011 and they fit fine. I don't know how they could slide with the spicks on the bottom.... Also in the picture above I see you left your clips in.... why not pull them out??? That might be causing them to not sit flush and let the spicks slip and cause the problem you are having.....

In my case I've pulled out the "clips" on day one, and it still slips forward. Also in my case I have my seat all the way back. Not sure if that may cause additional force on the HuskyLiner when I get in and out of the car.
