I saw a couple of the larger v models at the Annapolis dealer last weekend. Didn't know what I was looking at for a minute.

Now is the time to buy that new 2011 at a discount. Avoid the noisemaker! ...and probably the upcoming price increase.

    The 2012 V looks pregnant.

Good luck w that. Toyota dealers in our area and lack of Prius stock usually results in NO DISCOUNT. Always hear the same thing... "Only have two or three models in stock and they'll be gone in less than a week"

I guess that depends on location. Here, I see lots full of 2011 Prii. (one dealer had over 25, that I could count).

I just bought a 2011 Blizzard Pearl Prius 4 for 27.5K OTD, about 3K below MSRP.

The salesman I talked to this weekend when we test drove a 2011 IV was either completely in the dark about the 2012's or not telling me the truth. He claimed that the Attune system wouldn't be in the liftbacks and that he had no idea of any order or ship dates. He hadn't any idea about the options being different for 2012 or either. I'm thinking I need a different salesperson.

I sent him a link to the Toyota release on the mid-term refresh information, but he hasn't gotten back to me (he probably won't -- his loss). I just wish I knew if he was less than competent or not telling the truth in hopes of selling the 2011.

I'm waiting for the adjustable seat in the 2012's.

I just negotiated a 2011 Model Five (with Advanced Tech) for essentially $3,300 below MSRP. Model Fives are relatively rare in this area (I gather that between 4 dealers here, in the Rochester, NY area, there are two, this one (Blue) and another (Silver).

The front end on the 2012 looks much better than the 2010-2011. :p

I'll likely wait until the GenIV comes out. By then my GenII will probably be on its last leg the way I drive it. If the GenIV does not significantly improve mpg then I'll look for a used 2012-2013.

Looks like you got a great deal. According to truecar.com, the best price in my area for a 2011 Model Five with AT is $32,768. Congrats!

    Thank you,

However, it appears that right now Toyota is clearing the decks of 2011 cars in anticipation of 2012. I got Internet pricing from 4 area dealers and they were all offering about $2200 off on a model four or model five. I think that this discounting is somewhat temporary (in other words: BUY NOW). The additional $1K for my trade happened as I was (literally) walking out the door!

Just saw first Prius v and this thing has 'soccer mom' written all over it. Can't see myself driving one.
