I have a toyota prius NHW11 imported from japan. In really mint condition.. 170000km on it but still going great. The problem part is the cassette player... it has started to sound like a chainsaw when a cassette is inserted and then after about 4 seconds, the cassette is ejected automatically. i was using a ipod cassette adapter. came across this forum/website when trying to find a solution for the issue and i to my surprise there are many post talking about a solution for an ipod connection kit. I was wondering if anyone out there tell me if there is any setup available to me for my japanese import toyota prius. I have no CD player in the car, just one thing under the driver seat which seems to be the kit to read GPS navigation CD. The menu of the car is in japanese. So i don't use anything beside FM on the radio. I would like to see if i can find a ipod connection solution for my car. I am totally newbie to all this. thanks.
Since you were using an iPod-cassette adapter (less than optimum sound quality), an iPod-FM transmitter might meet your needs. You plug your iPod into the transmitter and tune your FM radio to the transmitter's frequency. There are loads of them on the market for reasonable prices. You can even find them that will accept other inputs as well.
