Found a number of these DVDs for sale used on eBay. That may be the best route to go but I forgot to ask a starting price for mine here. Let's start at $10 or best offer and see where it goes for the next few [weeks]. If there is no interest I'll take a better look on eBay.
thats a GREAT price for a 9.1 version dvd....I paid ALOT more for my 9.1 anyone with an 04-08 should JUMP on this!!!
There's no trick to this. I just paid $169 for the 2011 update that just came out and would rather get as much for the 2009 version as I can rather then take a pair of scissors to it. The one thing anyone interested in this needs to be absolutely certain of is whether this Gen06 2009 update will work in your GPS system. I do not assume that guarantee for you. I'm pretty sure this DVD will work in Gen06 systems but you need to guarantee that yourself. But, unfortunately, I've jumped the gun on selling this now since I'm going on a trip and will not be able to finish the sale until I return--my terrible bad. All the same, if interested, we could track that interest, if any, here and finish up the winning deal when I do return. It also gives you time to think about whether it is really worth the price. $20 might be worth it but $90 might not for a two-year old update?
I don't think this Gen06 2009 update will work on anything earlier then some late 2009 cars with Gen06 GPS systems. You will have to assume that risk if you don't learn for certain. And that of course is the rub because I don't yet see any value in this 2009 update--but you never know what oversight I might be making in feeling this.
I'll bid $15. I've got one of the pre-Sep09-model 10s w/ 8.1 and would like to get access to some of the other monitoring and adjustments (I can adjust the colors and look at the GPS time, and not much else) available through the "finger dance" in 9.1. Have a safe trip.

Not to rain on your maniacal laughter, but I don't think you'll be able to use this Gen 6 DVD in your Gen 5, or perhaps Gen 4, nav system. However, respecting the auctionplace, I'll raise to $17.
Someone should barrow a Gen 6 DVD and try it in a Gen 5 or Gen 4 system. Who knows? I'm just being cautious warning you that even if it doesn't make any sense why they might lock later DVD versions from playing in earlier systems there could easily be firmware differences that are not upgradeable by the DVD software between different generations and its just tough to argue with software that doesn't want to run especially if it tell you it can't run because its Gen 6 and you are trying to run it in a Gen 5 system.
I'd be very interested (raises price to $20) if I can figure out if it'll work in my 2004. My car currently shows all the roads around my house as a field and the freeway I drive on as a field too. It was never upgraded by the previous owner.

Sorry gotta pass now. I now understand the other comments. From my understanding this definitely wont work on 2004-05 models. Not sure where the cut off line is but I'm guessing its 2009 or 10, which makes upgrading a mute point.
