Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max vs Bridgestone Ecopia EP422

Does anyone know when the $70 rebate will be available at Costco again for the 422 tires?

 

They alternate the Bridgestone and Michelin rebates every month but not exactly on the 1st.

 

Looks like you've already chosen the EP422, but since I have experience with both tires I'll toss in my 2c:

Fuel Max on my Prius - Fuel economy is same as stock tires. Tires are not that quiet, but I do run them at 42/40 psi. Had an issue with one being significantly out-of-round when new that was replaced - still feels like another is slightly out of round but not annoyed enough by it to throw it away replace it.

EP422 on my LEAF - Smooth and quiet even when pumped up to 42/40 psi. A bit squirmy around corners even with the higher pressure. A few on the MNL forum have reported some slight abnormal chunking of the tire in the front, but mine look good.

No abnormal tire wear on both. Neither will win any handling contests. Would probably buy whatever was cheaper when the time came, but would prefer the EP422 over the Fuel Max. Do want to try the EP100 for better handling since snow is not an issue around here.

 

I have just recently ( about 1500 miles ago) installed 4 goodyear assurance fuel max tires, and I think they are very good handleing, and quite. I previously had Kumho solus kh16 , and the GY are way above the Kumho in performance.

 

Great deal from Costco! Time to replace my stock Integrity's (only got $45k miles out of them). Will be getting the EP422's too.

 

$355.96 OTD at Costco Christiana, Delaware. It was a two hour wait, but they had them in stock.

 

I've been trying to get 16-inch EP422's for almost 2 months. As of today they are still on national backorder. They are made overseas and the various dealers I've contacted can't even get an expected manufacture date from Bridgestone.

 

TireRack.Com has some 16-inch EP422's in stock. My local Discount Tire shop ordered them for me from TireRack and is charging the same price+shipping.

Less $70.00 Bridgestone Coupon for 4 tires and less $30.00 installation rebate. BTW, this is the first time I have seen installation rebated at Costco. I didn't even have to show the coupon, they automatically deducted it at the cash register.

$455.96 - $100.00 = $355.96

The coupon started on 11/10/2011, but I'm not sure how long it goes for.

 

Delaware has no sales tax, however, when I look at my receipt, there seems to be a flat Delaware tax of $2.00 per tire.

Also, thank you for your original post, and your post with the Costco coupon. This was a major factor in my getting these tires. I like them much better than the Michelin X's that they replaced.
