Going on my second week with my blizzard pearl Prius Five. Really surprised how much I'm enjoying this car. Bought it originally for the gas mileage but discovering that it's overall very comfortable for my 6'4" frame and extremely fun to drive. Everything about it seems just right. Visited a number of review sites for the 2011's and am surprised by criticisms regarding the brakes and steering. I've had Mercedes, porsches, cadillacs, Jaguars, lexus and corvettes and this car compares favorably with them all. The whole package is inspired. It's all the car one really needs. Got the tech package and don't regret the extra cost one bit. Best money I've ever spent on a car. It just makes me feel good when I'm behind the wheel. Interesting, though, how friends and aquaintances react to the news that I've bought this car. Ranges from "Isn't that a gay car?" to "I don't like to drive that slow" to "Why would you want to own such a funny looking car?" ......Idiots. This thing is Da bomb.
I love the pic it's a beaut. I've had a few negative comments my self but those who don't understand the Prius will never realize what we love so much about them!
You chose wisely my friend!! Welcome To PriusChat . I remember the excitement waiting for my 2007 Prius to come in. Every since than I remain excited with all the features of this wonderful car. But Best Of All The Gas Savings, I have been getting 56 MPG for the last 4 years. I hope you enjoy your new baby as much as I do mine. PS Love the Pic
Enjoy the car. When I traded our BMW 335 coupe for the Prius at first my son thought I was kidding. Once he realized I was not kidding he decided I was senile. It is a well designed well thought out vehicle.
Prius is not the only car some are calling ugly! Here is Dan Neil of WSJ calls the 1 Series M Coupe ugly! Somebody had to say it! Report: Dan Neil calls BMW 1M Coupe ugly
^^ That looks very much like the CT 200h I am shopping for Except for the multiple partitions of the air intakes -- that is just overdone.
LOL Truly one of the nice things about this forum is people with healthy egos adding some humor to the chat. Thanks, Tony
Off topic, but I recently saw a vanity plate in downtown Dayton that read "GAY CAR" on a red convertible VW Eos. Admirably, someone's got big ones. Your new G3 is beautiful.
"Best money I've ever spent on a car" I said this 2 years ago when I got mine and still do today,Didn't buy for the mpg just liked the car and the way it looks! added Tanabe springs, improved handling one of the best mods I have done on my five! http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...nally-tanabe-210s-springs-installed-pics.html
Well I've had beaten up ancient Corolla's, Small Pick-Up's, a defective Ford Taurus, and a 1993 Honda Accord... And I don't care what my vehicle "compares" to or what other people think about it. It's my vehicle, and if I like it, that's about where it starts and stops. Even if I don't like it, that's about where it starts and stops. I don't need to convince myself I'm driving the best vehicle possible, nor do I seek feedback from others approving of my choice. Glad you've discovered Prius and glad you think it's all the vehicle one needs. Maybe you can convince some of your homophobic ignorant friends and aquaintances to expand their horizons...or just make new friends and aquaintances....
Thanks PearlJammer and Sabby for sharing your experiences . And, yes, Tony is so funny! At this point, I stilll think the Prius is an amazing hybrid. If people (doubters/on-the-fencers) give it a try and keep in mind what it was designed for, they would only appreciate it. After test driving some other cars, we decided the Prius was the best choice to go to college with our child. They're now taking care of each other! There could be improvements in any car, the Prius is no exception. Probably, alot of it has to do with balancing performance with economics and Toyota learning from our driving experiences & needs. But one important thing is that the Prius was rated pretty well in crash tests. Another awesome plus to a low maintenance, low cost vehicle. One less worry for parents of an away-from-home student!
Be sure to check out some of the other views of the 1 Series M Coupe. I'm pretty sure I saw one on the road a few weeks ago and I thought it looked odd, to say the least.
I feel sorry for people who feel that they need to drive a car that represents their value or self-worth.
