Could someone with an aftermarket OEM-style NAV (Ottonavi, Rosen or similar) possibly test something for me? Pandora for iPhone just updated their app the other day. As of iOS5, they can now display album art and extended song information on the lock screen. The update they just released takes advantage of this new feature --- and it's quite nice to finally be able to see the full info on the lock screen. I am wondering if this will now allow non OEM-style NAVs to show Pandora album information as they would if you were using the standard iPhone/iPod music app. I had asked this question in the Ottonavi thread a few weeks back, and it was reported that the current version of Pandora at that time was unable to display this data on the headunit. I am crossing my fingers that the data is now able to be displayed. Thanks in advance for anyone willing and able to check on this for me.
On the 4 I just see controls and a "Pandora" on the lock screen - And, as an FYI - no data on the OEM Nav unit.
As long as you are running iOS5 and the updated version of Pandora (I think it just came out a day ago) --- you will see album art on the lock screen. If you double-tab the home button from the lock screen, it will bring up the standard controls. Instead of just saying "pandora" like it used to, it will give extended track information now. Try to get the update and get the album art working first --- then try it on the nav unit again. My theory is that the nav units are getting the feed the same way the lock screen does --- and it may allow Pandora to finally be able to show album art and track data on the nav units just like the normal iPod app does.
I have a 2010 w/oem nav and Pandora's track/album/artist info is now displaying with an iPad2 running iOS5 as well as an iPhone4s.
nice - I have an update for Pandora. Looks like I need an update! But, YouTube pushes video info to the Nav screen
