I went with an 8 inch powered sub-woofer from Bazooka, cheap and easy to install and easily removable.

Can you please tell me how to install this thing? I've been searching all over the internet and i still dont know. I see a ground wire, power wire, and some RCA cables. everything else is wrapped in electric tape. I was wondering if i could simply tap the sub into my factory speakers after powering and grounding it?

I just read your thread. I just purchased the 8in powered bazooka tube. Did you need to buy anything else or was everything included in the box. I have read different places and maybe a harness or other cables are required, especially for the JBL?Nav upgraded system. Is that true? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also did you self-install or have someone (ie BestBuy) do it for you?

    Thanks,

    Riz

I used to install car stereos...

Just about every car stereo I put in the dash had outputs on the back of them for sub-woofers or preamps. And most of those stereos had wiring diagram stickers on them so you could figure it out. But I'd try and find a wiring diagram for your stereo online before you start taking your dash apart.

And to get the most out of your sub you really do need to add amps to your other speakers. A really nice sub with crappy speakers that aren't amped enough sounds terrible.

I purchase this Hideaway | KICKER from Crutfield, install is pretty much straight forward, the unit came with everything you need to install it, you also need a set of inexpensive speaker wires (18 gauge) for the signal source, you also need some wire tapped like this Posi-Tap- No Crimp Tap to finish the job.

I placed the power subwoofer in the rear right corner behind the rear seat back, the 12v battery power source is right there underneath the cover, you need to remove the 2 front L/R kick panel and all 4 lower trim cover, behind the kick panel look for a "black wire connector" and that's the signal source for the subwoofer, use posi-lock wire tap and run the signal wire to the subwoofer "Hi level" input. the color code the the L/R signal wire is:

    Left channel : Black = (+) and Yellow = (-)
    Right channel : Red = (+) and White = (-)

I also ran the woofer remote volume control along the left side for easy adjustment.

    Good luck.

pm me if you have installation question.
