2011 Prius in Canada has a $2500 incentive discount for all customers (finance, lease or cash) in October.

But the 2012 prius has many great upgrades. I really like the 6.1" touchscreen Display Audio unit. Bluetooth audio streaming is OK. You can use Blackberry BT Music Gateway to add this function to current prius. I got one from eBay for $45. It works like a charm.

I'd get the 2012 just for the better NAV screen.

Local dealer has advertised $1,000 off MSRP on the 32 2011 Prius's that he has on the lot. That is a good start in negotiating. Plus the 12's will be higher $.

So save some money on a new one and money on gas also.

i bought a 2011 prius III with the navigation package.

after reading up on the upcoming changes for 2012 with the prius III, i didn't care for entune, i think the only thing i may miss is the 3 door smart key.

the dealers here in Nor Cal are starting to offer great deals on the 2011 ($900 under invoice), i don't think i'll be getting a deal like that on any 2012 at least not at the beginning.

i guess it all depends on how much can you get a 2011 like mine (navigation package -which is getting close to the 2012 standard III), and how much you think you will end up paying for a 2012.

If there is a feature on 2012 that you absolutely need, then it may not worth doing this calculation.

No idea, but you should be able to change it, as it this has been possible on 2nd and 3rd gens already. (Well, one 2nd gen, disabling it means no beeps when going into reverse. I don't know of a 1 beep mode on 2nd gen.)

ff you like the Automated Park assist feature on the Prius five, you better buy at 2011 model as this option will not be avaliable on the Prius five 2012 from what I have read, our Australian equivalent to your Prius five called the I-tech will retain this standard option on the updated 2012 model.

I really want Nav, don't need a car right away, but I am thinking of just getting a 2011 package 2 at a great deal, take the 1.9% for 48 months and spend $1200 on a highennd aftermarket navigation/head unit.
