Has anyone seen a 2006 Barcelona Red? I mean - with their own eyes, not in a photo? I've ordered it sight unseen and am very curious about how it looks. If you've seen it - I'd love to hear your impressions. If you took a picture of it - even better. (I did see the official pics both on the Japanese and the US sites)) Thanks P.S. Just went to look at it today, report at: http://priuschat.com/Just-looked-at-a-Barc...Red-t13105.html.
I've seen two. One was indoors on the lift getting prepped, so I didn't get a good look. The other was in daylight, parked next to a Salsa Red, so I was able to make a good comparison. Of course, it is impossible to describe in words, but I can say it is definitely redder and brighter than Salsa Red. In bright light, to me Salsa Red seems similar to Barcelona Red (unless they are side-by-side), in shadow Salsa Red looks maroon to me. The Barcelona Red is brighter in low light, that may be because it is metallic and reflects better. I was told by one dealer that Lexus has the same color as Barcelona Red, maybe you can look at a Lexus. btw, the Scion TC offers Classic Silver Metallic if anyone want to see that color. I like Barcelona Red, and have ordered it, too!
I am happy to hear you liked it. I ordered it with beige leather, #8 package. Going to try find one to take a look at, at a dealer, so i have an idea what to expect... I did look at the Lexus site. Their red is Matador Red Mica. Not sure it's the same as Barcelona Red. Anyone knows? ...oh, how easy it is to get obsessed with something...
Carson toyota may have one, see http://carsontoyota.com/html/special.html. Talk to someone in fleet sales, they seem to know more about the Priuses than the "under the tent" guys....
SOFSOF, I did the same thing - - - ordered w/o seeing the color. Plus, I am going for the leather package that comes in either grey or tan/beige. Dealer told me that the car is in Longbeach with the grey leather package. Not sure I want the color combo. Anyone seen or have pics of B. Red with grey leather??? olcorral
I e-mailed them and wanted to buy the 06 B-Red gray they have. I don't live in California, so I said I would fly in and get it. They refused to sell out of state, and also wanted 2000 above MSRP. Oh well,,,
I saw it last week outdoors, on a sunny day (in Seattle no less) and very close to a Salsa Red. I would agree with the person who described it as brighter and the person who likened it to a lipstick red. It is more orange and less maroon. Personally, I liked the old red better, but the new one is fine. It's not too bright like some reds out there. As for the upholstery, the one I saw had the "bisque" in cloth. I would prefer the darker color if I were choosing, mostly because of concerns about keeping it looking clean (but I have kids). the bisque looks more like a pale beige or cream color in real life than it does on the Toyota website. Good luck with you purchase!
The red looks cute! Like a cherry red. But for resale value it may be best to stick with black or silver. It's a shame Carson adds $2000 over MSRP. I have my deposit down at Longo but I would be willing to get my car elsewhere if it was sooner but not for extra money.

Just saw the Barcelona Red. Wow! Bright! Happy Red! MUCH brighter than salsa. It's a cloudy day here in KC... not good for picture taking. i will be back at that dealer tomorrow and if it's better outside... i'll see if I can get a photo. This car had the Bisque cloth interior. NOT very impressive. But then, I'm not a Red on Bisque fan.
