I go to extend the sunvisor this morning and it doesn't pull out to block the Sun.

Absolutely, right! We bought the car since we carpool so many kids to games all over the map. We're quite happy with the car EXCEPT we have to stop in order to use the nav system. Somehow, the car knows if the front passenger doesn't have it's seatbelt fastened, the car should allow the passenger to use the nav!

Oh, and the cabin's noisy at top speeds. In slow traffic the volume's usually at 8 or 10, then on the interstate I turn it up to 20...

    Otherwise, great car.

I know it's not the Prius itself, but it's part of the Prius experience--I don't like either of the dealerships that are closest to my home. I drove Corollas for 26 years and I wanted the Prius but the dealership experience continues to disappoint. We were forced to buy the undercoating/paint "protection" at the sale. The service departments are hacks who always mess up your car in some way. I bought my Prius last month and I had to return to the dealershop bc they'd omitted the hooks for the driver's side floormat. Unbelievable, given the history Toyota's had with floormats. I love the car--HATE the "service!"

Wish the heated seat switch was located in a more convenient spot (biggest gripe).

A second thing - there's a section of road that requires using your headlights during the day. I turned them on (US spec car) and then couldn't read the dash/speedometer, even with the dash lights turned up to their highest setting.

Why?? If so, I would have told them "no deal".

No way, I'll pick the charity I want to donate my hard-earned $$ to.

Two main things I'm not a fan of are the rattles (which seems to be a problem for everyone), and the lower front end. It's definitely taken a bit of getting used to. I guess there are a lot of steep curbs in my area and I've had to be very careful when pulling out of many driveways. My prius is about 8 months old and i need some touch ups already on the front bumper.

The front approach angle is too low. You have to watch parking bump stops, dips in the road, etc. Mine is in Sandy Beach Metallic which only came with bisque colored upholstery. I wish the cloth upholstery was available in a darker color. I wonder how long it's going to stay clean. Been thinking about some Wet Okole seat covers. Anybody using those in their 2010-2011 Prius?

I have a 2011 Three. Very nice car, I like everything about it except for one thing: it is really slow. When I pull out into the carpool lane I floor it and hope I have enough room! I guess the great fuel mileage makes up for it though. One other good thing, now all of a sudden, my wife's C300 seems very fast!

you need to change your display. in settings you can leave backlighting on. what you are most likely seeing is "night mode" i agree, i find is hard to see in all but the darkest of conditions.

Stock halogen bulbs. I replaced with Volt HID lights and couldn't be happier!

    1. Window controls. I hate auto window controls. They seem to have mind of their own which takes my eyes off the road to figure out what the window is doing.
    2. The car creeps forward when lifting off the brake. To simulate a gas car in drive, the electric motor makes the car creep forward. I hate that because you can't hear an engine running and get fooled sometimes. I'm still getting used to the pushbutton and fly by wire control.
    3. Poor rear visibility.
    4. All or nothing packages. I'd like foglights but not the $1000s worth of other stuff you have to buy to get them. Installing them now is too expensive.
    5. Would be nice to have a 12v outlet up on the dash so the GPS unit cord doesn't snake all the way across the dash to the console outlet.
    6. I still think they could have figured out a way to make the solar panel charge the traction battery. I don't care if it wouldn't be much. The car is parked out in the sun all day, everyday when I'm at work. However I didn't order the package with the solar panel, way too expensive.

    1. Don't press all the way down if you don't want auto winding.

    4. You can get them from the PriusChat shop. It's reasonably easy to install yourself.

after i park the car and then turn off and let me foot off the brake it, if parked on any sort of incline, moves a couple of inches. I don't use the emergency brake to park at all.

My previous car (BMW 529i) used to do that too, so I guess it's an automatic thing

There's play between where park locks the trans and the wheels, that's why it moves. It's always a good idea to use the parking brake, too.

That's why you use the emergency brake. It's an automatic transmission thing. As El Dobro said, there's a bit of play where the parking prawl "locks" into place. It's better to use the brake to hold the car than the parking prawl.

Its not that I dont like my prius... (heck, I only got it 3 weeks ago and we are still in our honeymoon period, right?) its just that after reading everyone's posts here (I only discovered PC after my purchase) I wish I had splurged and paid for one with a package. Mine is a basic no frill prius bc at the time all I wanted was a car that got me to work and back again. I had no intention of spending more time in it than necessary. But now, ever since I discovered PC, I spend more time lovin' on that car than I ever have any other car.
