just recently sold my bmw 335i and upgraded to a prius... soo nice filling up once every week and a half for 40 bucks as opposed to 70 every 4 to 5 days. actually, we bought my gf a blizzard white prius III back in march so this will be our second one. Already tinted windows and waiting for the HID kit to come in.
Wow, i will be getting 135 as a second car to modify it as a week end car as soon as i am done with payments on prius. Thats the reason i got prius in first place to be able to have 2 rugs. drive a lot for work toooo much in gas. c
very nice. The 335 was definitely a fun car to mod. I think i got mine up to 400 rwhp, but my 70 mile round trip to work was killing me and it ended up sitting in the garage more than on the road.
Congratulations! I almost bought a 335i four years ago, but I decided to choose the Prius. It turned out to be an amazing move financially since gas skyrocketed, and I ended up with an out-of-state girlfriend and a new job that had me driving 20K a year. The car has 80K on it now, and it is barely broken in. I beefed up the suspension, added new rims, and installed a new leather interior, and I'm just really content. I'm still in love with the 335i though. I drove my friend's Dinan a few weeks ago and it was completely insane.
Vishnu is a good choice, however Dinan offers factory certified upgrades through select BMW dealers. There are several states of tune available (check out Dinan's website for cost and specs), and as it is sold through and installed at BMW centres, the factory warranty is not voided. I have also read in a few automotive periodicals that BMW will soon have their own "power kits" available for both the older twin turbo and newer single turbo 3L engines. PS: I kept my 335i when I bought my prius...sometimes I still feel the need for speed
Congratulations, and welcome to PriusChat! Been almost a year since I traded my 328xi for my Prius... Was a little worried at the time that I'd regret it. I haven't
I traded our 335xi coupe in for a Prius last month. I have had a similar reaction. I do not miss it. (except for an occasional on ramp exercise!!) The Prius has many thoughtful features and it is nice passing the pump.
Put a 24mm rear sway bar and some lowering springs (of 17"-18" wheels) on it and regain that on-ramp/off-ramp excitement!
absolutely... financially it makes all the sense in the world. esp since my gf and i just picked up a mortgage. wasn't all smiles when i left the 335i at the dealership, but once i made my first car payment & fillup, that changed quickly.
yup, had Vishnu's procede v4, downpipes, intercooler, intake, exhaust... Almost got meth, but decided against it.
I looked at the Dinan packages, but for the price to power ratio, the Vishnu made more sense. it also depends on your Service advisor if he wants let you maintain your warranty. I brought my car into the dealership several times with chip, intake, intercooler, exhaust, downpipes, coilovers, and wheels and they worked on it as it were stock. Even replaced the fuel pump and updated the software. I was thinking about keeping it as well, but our new home owners association will only allow 2 cars per household. Any cars outside the garage has to have a permit... I do miss having the speed though haha
I completely agree... it is a nice car to have. I do miss the power, but don't miss the maintenance and the fillups haha
