    HV battery fan has 6 speeds. I am not able to hear it at speed 3 unless I put my ear next to it.

    Yep, we bought it new...

    Probably the best way to find out what is wrong is to try to trade it in. They'll be glad to tell me all the reason's it's not worth anything.;)
