We were looking for a 2011 III w/ nav and it is arriving today. My husband insisted on the extended warranty, gap insurance, and extra tire pkg warranty I believe. My question is since we havent picked it up can we change our mind and take off the warranties? My husband puts about 50,000 a yr on a vehicle so I understand why he wants the extra coverage but all in all it was around 3,000 by the time he added those extras.
From what I understand, you have 30 days after purchase to void any extended warranties that you purchased. If your husband really needs the extended warranty have him check on PriusChat Shop and I think he can get it for much less.
It's true that there are warranty deals to be had at the Priuschat Shop. As for the need for extended warranties with the Prius, I would say that I haven't heard of a lot of need for extended warranties for the Prius. But I understand that when it's your car, you have to do what you have to in order to feel comfortable and secure.
You haven't actually signed for the car, have you? You are not obligated to pay for anything extra until after you sign the papers upon delivery. Just call your dealer in the morning to let them know so they can adjust the paperwork/numbers before you come in to sign for everything.
