Went to SEARS to buy Michelin tires on black Friday...they ran out of the Hydroedge and talked me into the Agility, gave me a 10% off and 195's tires. I've had them on for 2 days and mileage is definitely lower but rides well enough.

Any opinions about these tires...and the 195's?? I live in SoCal so no major weather to deal with.

I'm wondering if I should go back for the Hydroedge??

    Thanks!!

So would those be 195/65 (slightly bigger than stock) or 195/60 (slightly smaller)?

Either way you'll get a bit of a mileage drop if the new tire is heavier than the OE Integrity which is a very light tire, and the drop will be greater with the larger of the two. That may seem counter-intuitive because the bigger tire makes fewer rotations for a given distance, but the energy required to move the extra rotational mass at a greater radius (i.e. taller tire) per wheel is the mass times the radius squared.

The 195 vs. 185 is not as big a deal.

I looked at the revolutions per mile for both of those as compared to the Integrity, and they are both close enough that your speedo will read within ±1 mph at 60 mph.

The Hydroedge is almost exactly the same size as the Integrity (but heavier).

The real question is how much improvement is there in handling (safety), ride and noise, and are those factors worth the mpg hit that you will get? That answer will likely be different for everyone.

Hello: A very good site to check tires out is www.tirerack.com also www.1010tires.com which lists the treadwear of the tires.

I'm running Hydroedge in the summer and Semperits in the winter, both excellent tires.
    Hope that helps,
