Does your Nav show the outlines of buildings in major cities? If so how to you set it so it does?? I have an 05 that I purchased in July, I thought I read somewhere that it had that ability... Also - Does anyone know if the new revision (for 2006) of software offers any additional capability?
I believe you just need to zoom in to 150 feet or less for building shapes to kick in. Of course, you need to be in an urban area where the database has building shapes for that area. jrohland
06 Navigation Features Higher resolution screen, voice input of certain destinations "while moving" and a few other features.
I think coverage of building shapes is only available in some areas of Detroit, Chicago, N.Y., and L.A. You will need the “Display Building Shape†preference turned on in setup. You will need to be zoomed in. I know of no additional building shape capability on the '06s. Just out of curiousity, MHR -- did you get NAV version 5.1 in July?
Yea, I don't think Denver is covered. Bummer on the 4.2 -- they went to 5.1 with my August-produced vehicle! Say, I don't suppose you'd be interested in photographing your 4.2 detailed coverage screens and posting them to: http://priuschat.com/index.php?showtopic=12927&hl=
No city I am ever going to visit in my car. Why did they even do this? Just to PO the entire US except those three cities. Like how many Prii have been sold in DeeTroit?
I believe they have to buy that information from cities. It turns on the second I enter LA city limits. If they got it on their own there would be no partucular reason to have it stop at the City boundary. Perhaps not all cities have the data to sell to the nav people?
