I want to put a blue filter in my front dome light and can't figure out how to remove the cover lens. I'm afraid of pulling too hard on the cover and breaking it. Is there some simple snap on off procedure I'm missing? It's not covered in the manual, probably because it's so obvious that only the most hardened idiot like myself couldn't figure it out. My partner's son suggested the blue light for interior lighting without the glare from white light. If the blue is too bright, I'll try aviation red, so my car will look like the inside of a submarine. Bob
If you are talking about the dome light (not the reading lights), the lens is held in by two "claws". They are on either side of the switch side of the lens. Using a screwdriver, press in on the clips which are located about midway between the switch and the edge of the lens. You should be able to see the clip by pushing up a little on the headliner. After that it looks like a pretty standard dome light bulb.
Bob- What did you end up going with there? Did you replace the bulb or did you insert some sort of color gel? My friends have also commented that the dome lights (especially the rear one) ruin the cosy atmosphere of my Prius whenever any of us open a door.
Hi I have 2011 Black Prius Type 2 and I would like to install LED bulbs in the interior of the car. Which brand would you recommended and where would I be able to buy affordable LED lights?
