Don't mean to dredge up an old post, but no real point in making a new one...
I want to add cruise control to my 2009 base model, but I'm a little confused.... Exactly what parts do I need? Can I just add the parts available on metrotpn? Which of those parts do I need? Or do I have to get a Rostra part? I'm a little nervous about doing it myself (and I don't have a warm garage) - how do I convince the dealer to do it for me? Will I be able to find someone else to do it for me?

Do you still have info on this retrofit and parts list required and approx price. I have recently acquired a 2008 T3 and wish to fit a cruise control. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone. I have finally managed to join the esteemed Prius club with my recent purchase of a 2006 Non-JBL European model.

I wish to add cruise control to it and was eyeing the following item at ebay:

item number: 250852816442. I'm not permitted to post links as yet. This is my first post.

    I was wondering if:

    1. it is the right part?
    2. it is all I need to perform the installation?
    3. there are other parts required, what are they and where can I buy them at the lowest price?
    4. there is any detailed procedure documentation with illustrations which might walk me through the installation?
    5. there is anything else I need to know before starting?
    Hoping for your kind assistance.

    Thanks in anticipation.

did you buy the parts from a dealer or on Ebay or some such? Did you do it yourself? Was it just the steering wheel stalk or did u have to do the brake switch on a European spec model? I did it before on a Saab 93 and it took 10 minutes. It seems from earlier posts that it is harder on the prius

    Hi Mate,

My dad has a Prius II, i think it's a 2008 without cruise control.
Lately he's have trouble with he's knees, so he could really use a cruise control.

I was thinking of trying to mount one for him, and i saw your post. Is it possible to get the part numbers and this hints how to do it?

    Cheers!

I wanted to confirm that this worked for my 2009 base US prius.

Here are the parts I used.
    4518647010CO steering wheel cover
9015950199 screw x2- to attach the stalk to the steering wheel
    8463208021 Cruise Control Switch
    846330E020 CC Switch Wire

I tried to use an OEM brake/stop switch, but the toyota dealer gave me the wrong one. (84340-30100)
The correct one is 84340-30110, or you can get the switch from most autoparts retails by just searching prius stop switch with cruise control. If you see a picture, the one with cruise control will have connections for 4 wires.

I recommend removing the lower half of the dash to get the brake/stop switch out. The first 30 seconds of this video is a great example.

Then use a wrench to turn the switch so the wiring harness faces down. This will make it much easier to remove the wire from the back of the switch.

Adjust the brake switch so your brake lights come on properly and you are ready to go.
