I will probably be getting the Rosen, because of all the positive feedback, in this forum. But, I was curious if anyone has the Alpine unit.... I have Alpines in my other cars, & I like them.... Thx!
 I like all the features of the Rosen and I think it is the best! For the money, compared to the factory system it is superior!
I'm also in this conundrum. I've been reading a lot about the Rosen on the forums but with an Android phone handling GPS I don't need Navigation in my Head Unit. That would make something like a Pioneer HU a lot cheaper in the end.
I'm in the market too- also don't really need Nav as I have it on my phone- but what are the other options? I would like to integrate my phone into a touch screen- especially pandora. I have a Mytouch4g- so I'd like something that can bluetooth stream and still show up on the screen as well. Sirius would be nice but not necessary.
If you're really looking cheap - the 2DIN Chinese stuff on EBay are pretty decent - you can get nav, steering control et all for like $250 (and it's pretty similar to the Rosen)... The Chinese stuff runs most any nav software (which works much better than an Android phone) - depending - you can even set speed limits (so if you're exceeding a speed on a street by xx amount, you get a warning - most street speeds are in the latest map updates - and updates tend to be free)...
Well, not necessarily looking for cheaper, that just comes with the territory of looking at a non-head unit. I don't think any Navigation can compete with the internet connected GPS on Android devices.
You probably haven't seen the latest iGo8 running in all its glory - funny thing - even POIs are filled up - so you rarely need Google maps... Traffic is the only one not really covered (which I use my cell for)...
