Hi again y'all! I got my Prius IV Solar/Nav on Saturday and I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!!! Its sandy beach with bisque leather interior, just beautiful! It had 7 miles on it when I picked it up and its got 245 on it now, and I'm getting 43mpg so far! I'm in LUV with this car! Its so much fun to drive and handles so darn well, so much more than we expected. The purchasing experience was stellar. My salesman at Street Toyota in Amarillo TX was AWESOME! He spent plenty of time showing us how to use all the stuff and was so patient and so professional yet very friendly. It was absolutely the most fun we've ever had buying a vehicle. I'm so impressed with this car.... we drove home in 70 degree weather last night with the moonroof open and singing along with my ipod, and it felt like we were teenagers again! Just had to rave a little bit!
Can't think of any other car I would buy right now! Gas is near 4 bucks a gallon here now. Like the color!
Welcome Aboard. :welcome: Read your manual. Wake up. Drink some coffee. Read some more. Enjoy yourself!!!! Many happy and safe motoring miles....
Congrats and :welcome: Enjoy your new vehicle. Remember to read the owner's manual. It has useful information such as tyre pressures (and how to read a tyre sidewall label), available dealer-customisable features (like alarm settings, headlight auto-off timer, interior light fade out timer etc) and of coures some hybrid driving tips.
Welcome and congratulations ! My car just turned two years old last week but I can still remember having the same feeling as you when I first drove the car the first couple of weeks. I still look forward to getting in the car and taking off today. Enjoy your new car and many more happy driving miles ahead
I remember the somewhat anticlimactic feeling when I test drove the Prius and found it mostly normal, but slightly less responsive than a normal car. I remember the knots in the stomach after parting with $23k. I remember the enjoyable feeling when I drove it more and got to do more gliding, sitting silently and vibration-free at stops and getting much better mileage than our Civic. Since then it's all been enjoyable for me, although my wife just puts up with it.
Welcome To PriusChat . I remember the excitement waiting for my 2007 Prius to come in. Every month since than I remain excited with all the features of this wonderful car. But Best Of All The Gas Savings, I have been getting 56 MPG for the last 4 years. I hope you enjoy your new baby as much as I do mine.
I bought and Two and found the manual to be a fairly quick read since I got to skip large portions on features I don't have. Enjoy your car, scoobagirl.
I love my Prius too. (after finally getting the rattles fixed) It doesn't handle like a sports car but then you don't drive it like one either. I'm getting about 52 MPG. I drive 42 miles each way to work and do it for less than 2 gallons. Plus the JBL and Nav KICK nice person!
Put lowering springs (and/or rear sway bar) and/or 17"-18" wheels. Then it will handle like a sports car.
Glad you're enjoying the new car. Sounds like it's time to drive down to Palo Duro just for the heck of it.
