I bought the 125K/8 year on both my 2010 Prius III and 2010 Prius IV. After the two warranty repairs on the III, the oil change cover and the Nav. system; I'm glad I did. My dealer refunds the warranty cost if it is not used which is a great incentive.
How many miles are on the 2010 cars? The oil change door is covered for the life of the vehicle due to a Toyota service recall. What happen to your nav system and did it happen in less then 36,000 miles? I read the forums every day, this has to be the first nav system that died on a 2010 prius. So far I predict you did not make out on the $4,000 you spent on two extended warranties.
It doesn't cover struts so I didn't buy it. However, if the hub/wheel bearing assemblies turn out to be real duds, I will buy the warranty. PG86100 using TapatalkQ
I might add an extra year before the 3rd one runs out. You can get max 2 extra years here with an external company (called "Car Garantie") which is 100% endorsed by Toyota Germany. Toyota Germany does not offer an extended warranty directly, but only through this company. The costs for the extra warranty are pretty low as they charge by the HP. I think it is something like 200€ or less for 1 extra year. (the more km you drive, the less the refund, i.e. you have to pay a % of the costs the more the km you drove when you get it serviced).
I think I'll pass on the extended warranty. I have a $100.00 Garmin for Nav (love it). The only sure bet in life is death and taxes. Good luck to all in this wager! I'm betting the warranty will not be needed.
I think in your case, Prius II minimum of electronic gadgets, you made the correct decision. I went for a Prius V with ATP and the ATP systems are new to Toyota and will be expensive to fix if they fail. I bought a 100K mile/5 year extended warranty from Troy just before I got to 36K miles. I hope I never need it but if I do I'll be glad I have it. I must admit I love my old Garmin too, The Toyota Nav gets me there, usually, but I will never be to fond of it.
