As I was leaving work today, I noticed a car backing out abnormally fast going towards my Black 2005. In front of me my baby was hit! It appeared to be around 5 MPH. Rear passenger side bottom corner. Minor paint chipped below the brakelight, scratch leading from there to the passenger side rear wheel. I am taking it in Friday to be looked over. What can I expect and any possible damage? I didnt notice any major dents, but will have to look when daylight comes.
I feel for you. I would have cried. I am so careful about where I park. Always look for the Lexus or Mercedes to park next to. Figuring they won't be door slobs. On Tuesdays, I go in late and parking is at a premium. I always take my old SUV. The slobs have had their way with it already. Poor baby!
I'm so sorry for you, NuOwner. Could you identify the perpetrator? If the metal above the bumper isn't deformed, I suspect the damage is only the paint scratch, but those can be surprisingly costly to fix. The only thing that's in that area is the 12V battery. Good luck, try to have a happy Thanksgiving.
Yes the owner of the other car knew that I owned the 05 and knows what I think of it. (cherish). I will be heading into a dealer tomorrow and confirm where to go from here. The only deformed area is about 2 inches in diamater inward dented underneath of the passenger side brake light. The bumper area is fine. This is my beginning on this site. Keep up the great work what a site!!
Maybe this is a good opportunity for that other person to reconsider his behavior in general, and ask himself why he's being that impatient in a *parking lot*. That's the kind of thing that should never happen, period -- no possible excuse for it. I hope that idiot takes home a permanent lesson from this, and passes it on to other people he interacts with. . I would have been absolutely ripshit. . _H*
