I will have my PlugInSupply, 10KWh conversion at the Green Drive Expo, in Richmond, CA. September 17th. Green Drive Expo - Bay Area Scott
I haven't gotten to see one of these in a while. Looking forward to checking it out. If you choose to show off your PHEV in the Owners Showcase for $20 then you'll be upgraded to VIP status which means you get free admission for everyone in your vehicle and lots of swag. Plus, since your vehicle will be on the show floor, you can charge up all day! Cars need to arrive no later than 9am and will be on display until 5pm. There's more info on the web site and feel free to ask any other questions on this thread.
Yeah, I will be on the floor...probably right next to Robb P. and the PlugInSupply booth. So folks, if you have been waiting to talk to the man behind one of the best conversions out there, and see the end result, will see you Saturday, Sept. 17th. Scott
In addition, Robb tells me I will have Kiet's new board installed prior to the show, which should give me both 72mph pure EV capability and regeneration to the large pack. In fact, Mr. Wizard, Kietty here, is supposed to be present at the show as well. This conversion, in a nutshell, should do most of what the Gen III PHEV 2012 Prius will do, with a far greater range.
Yep. Scott has it right. I'll be at the show with Plug-In Supply. You guys can find me there! Unfortunately, this time around, I will not have my vehicle for display. But... to give PC forum users an idea of what will be going on, we will have the Gen 3 Prius that I worked on for display. It'd be nice to have one of our converted vehicles with my ECM controller design demoed at the show, but, we'll see
By the way, will you offer the same improved ECM for the 4kWh kit? The main reason a lot of people here are more interested about the smaller kit is the lighter weight. If the weight goes up as much as with the 10kWh kit, we need to register the car for four and literally remove the middle part of the rear seats. With the smaller pack we should be able to keep our cars registered for five. And even that would have adequate range to cover all of the daily driving. We really hate our car legislation... Not to mention we don't get any tax reductions - we only get an added power source related tax for NOT using gasoline. It would be currently around 360 euros per year for electric prius. So they're actually punishing us for using electricity. Same tax which is applied to all diesel cars. Luckily it will be reduced after 2012 or 2013. But as gasoline costs around $8.5 per gallon here, I don't complain...
