Ahh, another BobIsTheOilGuyer. I always cringe when people talk about using Fram Oil Filters. Their air filters are fine, their oil filters are not.

People: Don't be sucked in by good advertising....avoid the Wall of Orange. Your vehicle will thank you for it.

First off, thanks for your review!

But, I = confused about the fram part i need.

When I look at the CF10132 on amazon, the compatibility checker says it is not compatible with my 2005 Prius, so is this the right part number for sure?
    http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/B0010E1LYY?tag=priuschatcom-20 recommends the CF9846A instead

I use the Fram CF9846A in my '06. It fits perfectly.

Just wanted to add my .02 as a datapoint.

I purchased Fram CF9846A according to their fitment guide and here is what it looks like when compared to the OEM filter I got from the Toyota dealer.

I haven't installed it yet but they pretty much lined up perfectly to each other.

Our Wal Mart has them for about $20.00. Seem high especially with one of the highest sales tax in the nation here (WA). I;ll probably order one from out of state.

I got a Fram cabin air filter from Walmart last weekend for $18.50. It fit fine and looks a lot sturdier than the OEM filter.

I just replaced my OEM cabin filter with the Fram CF9846 that I picked up from Walmart today and I'm very pleased! Having just purchased the car 2 weeks ago and tiring of my wife complaining about the "odor" in the car from the previous owner I am a happy guy now! The OEM cabin filter is garbage IMHO.

Toyota dealer quoted me $60 to change this filter stating - we have to go behind the glove box.
I declined - went home and remembered it was in the owners book how to clean/change it.
I could not find the FRAM anywhere in stock so decided on a Wix #24483 from Amazon.com for $9.90 (prime member price and free shipping).
Great fit and I installed it in about 20 seconds.

Just ordered one from Amazon and it's a different part#. #CF9846A. It looks to be the same shape like the OEM without the foam frame around the perimeter. I will try installing it and let you know if it fits.

Got one from EBay for $4.xx, shipping included. Looks as good as the OEM, fits and does the job, such as it is, which is not much.

I like the carbon filters. they seem to help when you get behind stinky trucks. could just be my imagination though...

I picked up the Fram Fresh Breeze filter yesterday at Pep Boys for $18.99. It was cheaper than the price they charge for the stock replacement filter.

It filters dirt from air that gets sucked into the car. If you roll down the window, there is no filter at all, and you breathe that...

I did have a minivan that was regularly parked under a tree, and the neglected cabin filter filled with oily soot. Yuck.

Toyota sells a product which you spray into the cabin air intake vent which cleans out the intake somewhat.

Still using the EBay filters -- but this year they are up to $6 with free shipping.

TYC brand. A very decent aftermarket source for cabin filters...Come-on people. It is not an oil filter. It is meant to keep gunk seed pods, sticks, dust out of the blower fan. Unless you walk around the streets with a surgical mask on, I don't see why people get all excited about getting a super-duper, extra special cabin filter.

Ah, the good old days of some 20 years ago. No one had heard of cabin filters....
