Just picked up classic silver metallic Prius II today. Traded in Matrix for the Prius. First thing I noticed is how solid the car feels for a compact vehicle. Thought it was pretty small from outside, then realized how big the car was when I drove into the garage. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase and look forward to working on the car (HID kit, side molding, clear bra, bumper protector, etc). I spent 30 min spraying the seat with 3M scotch guard and applying UV protective stuff on the dash.
You will love your car. Ordered following parts: side molding, 3M paint protection kit (bumper, hood, fender, mirror and headlights), rear bumper guard, rear bumper protection film, bumper side guards. Also getting windows tinted...
Any factory warranty issue with installation of aftermarket HID kit? Subaru dealers that I've dealt with in the past were very mod friendly, but I wasn't sure how Toyota dealers are when it comes to installing aftermarket kits. Thanks,
Congrats! Now you have the best of both worlds! Not sure about the warranty issue. As long as it isn't the cause of the warranty complaint, they can't blame the HID kit.
I won't feel comfortable driving on the highway until getting 3M protection kit installed. I won't be upgrading suspension on Prius, so it will be strictly our DD for now. I am so glad that we got the Prius.
I finally had the opportunity to drive Prius on the highway. Overall, car was very comfortable, although there were situations where Prius struggled to keep up with other cars (had to push the car to get the car moving). Think "Power" button is such a nice feature as you can really feel the extra power (similar to VTEC kicking in). ECO mode wasn't really practical as car really struggled to get moving, especially in the city. Plus: comfortable ride, great MPG, Power mode Minus: wind noise, engine noise, windshield glare at night
