Thanks for the eBay tip on this one. I just ordered from the same seller. This will make that bottom tray much more useful.

Ya, I hear ya, it bothered me at first. From my initial experience, the tall 16.9 fl oz Arrowhead, Costo/Kirkland, and Evian water bottles fall out of the holders on the slightest of turns because the holder is very shallow and bottles are very narrow. So I performed a temporary DIY by cutting some thick flexible foam off a cheap yoga mat that my wife never used to pad the gaps. It's a very small thick strip of foam that I custom cut. I just bend it like a "C" shape, the foam naturally wants to stay straight so when I slide it in there is no wiggle or movement. It works like a charm. I still plan to mod the tray with a Toyota "death grip" that I have in the Sienna and not deal with yoga foam lol :p

One other tip for those who already own this tray, we stock up on cheap bottled water at our local Walmart and their eco2o bottled water fits in the tray's cup holders snug without any foam or modification. These are the 20 fl oz botles and are a slight bit thicker that the 16.9 fl oz and I can assure you they will not fall out on even the toughest of corners! ;)

A bit off-topic, but after reading comments about water bottles I decided to share some thoughts.

So, I am talking about these plastic water bottles that seems everybody is carrying around. They are relatively cheap, marketed as recyclable, some companies donate like $0.03-$0.05 for humanitarian projects (that's what, for instance, the water manufacturer "donate" for a $2-priced bottle of water Starbucks sell ). Yes, they can go for recycling, but you must know that there is no full "recycling" for plastic (especially PET used for bottles) - it is more like "downcycling" - some of the material is used to produce something else, but not the bottles. And you know where the energy used to produce and recycle the waste is coming from..

Here is a short movie explaining the situation about bottled water - it was created the way even idiots can understand:
    The Story of Bottled Water

Here you may read about PET recycling:
[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PET_bottle_recycling"]PET bottle recycling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]
..just remember, that less than a half of all plastic bottles are recycled worldwide. That means, the rest will poison the Earth for hundreds and even thousands years.

Personally, I decided not to buy plastic bottled water about 2 years ago. I am still alive and not thirsty :) Several stainless steel reusable bottles like these here solved the problem. And most of us here at PC drive Prii not only to save money, but also because we care about the nature, right?

P.S. Watch other Story of Stuff videos, there are some very helpful. Your kids may like them also.

This is great! Been doing massive car comparisons- and I actually hate that the Prius has so little storage. Why not a bigger pocket in the door for wallets etc? But this will really help!

Well considering it has two gloveboxes (most cars have one) and a storage tray under the console big enough for small bags (most just have a tray or a cubby hole for mp3 players), I'd say it's already up (yes the lack of door pockets is annoying. The old one had it, the new one doesn't).

I hear ya- but I rarely if ever use the glovebox. I put everything on the door pockets- gonna have to get used to it I guess. But yeah- seems like no reason it doesn't have the door pockets other than bad design.

That's a nice addition! I'm still itching to also get those WeatherTech floor liners. Regarding the 2 gloveboxes, while I was cleaning the inside of dashboard and console area I found another thing that can fit on the top part:

For sure. I had to relocate the stuff I usually put in the door pockets as well.

I got one (just arrived today). No problem with standard-size water bottles - see Poland Spring bottle:

I also tried a Canada Dry Seltzer bottle (taller), but it did NOT fit. Here's a comparison of the 2 bottles:

Notice that I also have 2 clip-on trash bins. Tried clipping them to the door pockets, but kept kicking with my foot getting in & out. So, I've notched the tray to make room for the clips:

Here's a view from the passenger side with the door open:

The bin is pretty small, but at least it's a place to put stuff! Here's a view looking down into the foot space:

I don't think the issue is with bottles fitting, it's with them being held when the car goes round corners. Looking at your pic I can't see how they would stay upright with so little of them held by the tray.

Received mine in the mail yesterday! Solid, sturdy plastic. Fits perfectly and now it almost completely hides my auxiliary wire going from my outlet to my center arm rest. :D
