I'm about ready to pull the trigger on purchasing a 2008 Prius with 74K for miles. It was a one owner lease vehicle and appears via CarFax that it has had good general maintenance. Should I have reservation? The car looks to be in good condition and being sold as a certified Toyota from a Toyota dealer. Anxiously Excited
If the price is right, go for it. Ask the dealer to replace the 12v battery if it is still the original.
Pull the trigger? Sure. 2008 is a great year. It might cost a little extra since it is certified. Make sure it has smart key -- where you can leave the key in your pocket to unlock the doors and start the car. It is one of those things where in retrospect you wonder how you ever lived without it. Make sure there are at least two keys. If you decide to add one later it will cost $200+.
Well, I did it. I picked up the car last night. My first major trip was to work this morning and the computer said I had gotten 51.4 mpg. I loved the drive and felt great to have a reliable car that is safe for my family and the environment as well. Very excited for the journey. T-Ray
