Tried to get a JVC installed today. The shop in Denver indicated an error showed up on the check-out. According to this shop the Metra cable has been recalled, but they didn't know it until after the install. Anyone on this list confirm? Seems like it is important for people who have this cable already installed. Hope this helps. JoE (Third Prius; 2004, 2008 and now 2011)
You could use paperclips and wirehangers if you wanted to. Copper is copper, a cable recall is useless. Just band it or tape it with its true function and there will be no confusion years from now when you rip it out for the latest and greatest of the future.
