My understanding is that Toyota does not sell them in the US, only Canada. I think I paid like $50 for the heater (from Canada) and $111 for install (at a local Toyota dealer). There is a thread on installing them, it appears to be difficult but possible for an owner to do it.
You can get them from Sigma Automotive (a PriusChat sponsor--see sponsors links for URL) that is based in the US. But the truth is that he's importing them from Canada and reselling so you'll end up paying more. With the Conversion rate the Canadian seller is much more reasonablely priced....they're a fast and dependable company many of us have been buying from for years.
Ordered it today, shipped today. Sub-Total: $57.80 Canada Post (1 box(es) to be shipped) (Small Packets Surface, 2 to 4 weeks): $9.75 Total: $67.55 US Hopefully they can put it in at the vocation school I work at.
That was fast....I got it today. I live in Michigan they are in BC. It said 2-3 weeks. I don't have a car to put it in yet. It is on order though. 2006 Silver Package #7. Cool thing is...I work at a vocational school. One of the teacher will put the heater and the EV button in for nothing as long as he can show the car to the kids. He promises they will not touch it.
Hmmm. Some of the more interesting tales I've heard: "The check is in the mail" "Of COURSE I love you" "I'll still respect you in the morning" HA
You forgot "I wouldn't do that in your mouth" But I just might stand by and watch...it will be my first new car. I might be a little nervious.
