Hello everyone! My wife and I just purchased a blue 2011 Prius II and we love it! Also, as a musician (I play upright bass), it's an amazing gig car - I can fit my bass and other equipment easily with lots of room to spare, not to mention the obvious benefit of killer fuel economy. This site is a wonderful resource and I've already learned a lot by perusing for a few hours. Thank you all for this wealth of knowledge. I'm sure I will be spending lot's of time in the future... Pete
Hi Pete, Welcome abroad. As a 17-month first time Prius owner, I cannot be happier with the switch. I would just like to add that, besides the usual negative taunts because I drive a Prius, my Prius is the only car that can fit a roadbike without detaching both wheels! And I am up against the so-called large cars such as Ford Falcon, Mazda6 and Renault Megane. At times I conveniently threw some taunts back at my large car mates... Happy priusing
Hey Pete, Welcome to PC and congrats on your purchase. 2 years with my car and still loving it also. I still look forward to sliding behind the wheel and taking it for a drive. Dwight
Thanks everyone. Sure I will take a pic and post with the bass loaded. The whole thing fits diagonally in the back, no need to have the neck through the middle of the front seats. Everyday I'm really loving the car more. I'm also glad I bought the II because I found some posts about third party nav systems, fog lights, and other goodies. At first I wished I had got a III, but now I can upgrade it myself for a fraction of the cost that Toyota wanted! Pete
To add onto the OP, I play in worship bands and lead the youth worship band at church - there have been weeks where I had my bass, an acoustic guitar (both in cases), an amp head, my wireless transmitter, and my gym bag all in the back of my 2012 with all the seats up! The Prius is remarkable for music gear transport I would say.
