I installed a backup camera a while back, that i got from ebay. Last night i noticed that the screen is flipped, whats on the right hand side on the back shows on the left side of the screen and the left shows on the right side of the screen. Is there a way to flip this? Thanks, Jay
I noticed similar issue on my HU once. The car was parked at extreme hot condition (definitely out of HU's running specifications). Everything was reversed, flipped verticaly 180deg, Not only camera but HU's GUI as well. My first feeling was that I left the cargo door open as the first image was from rearview camera. I fixed it via HU switch off and on. Iit is not your case probably, as you wrote yoy noticed it at night.
Normally the image from a backup camera is deliberately flipped so that it looks like a mirror image. Drivers are accustomed to seeing a flipped image in the rear view mirror, so the makers of backup cameras provide the same flipped image. Is the OP saying that his image is flipped (normal) or not flipped? Tom
i have almost the same setup in 2 cars... both rear view cameras are purchased form ebay different sellers... and both are connecting to a kenwood 9960. so on the prius when in reverse... on the screen I see driver's side back view on the right side of the screen and the pass side on the left side... for eg.. if There is a car to the left of drivers side behind me it will show up on the right side in the screen.. also for eg, when parallel parking say where the curb is on the right side it shows up in the left on the screen... I dont think this was the case it seems to have someone flipped.. any help?
not that i can tell... here is the camera I got.. Car Rear View Backup Camera Toyota Camry 2009 PE067 | eBay
Perhaps you can try one thing: Go into the setup menu in the HU and change the default camera settings Specifically from CMOS-300 to Other Also you may have to change the ID as this specifies if the camera is front or rear facing refer to this: http://manual.kenwood.com/files/4d09928125a25.pdf
If you missed distance lines, it is a defective camera. Buy new one or ask the dealer for replacement under warranty.
