is there a difference in Transmission between 04 to 09? becuase i have to buy a new one and wondering if i should just buy a use low mile 09 tranny and not a new 05
Are you asking, can one buy a transaxle specific to a 2005 as a new part? The answer is no, the part number is the same for 04-09. Further, a salvage pull will save thousands, especially if you do the labor. There are possibly a few very small changes that were made starting with 06, but they are all internal. On the outside, they all look the same.
I can't help but think that this is related to the accident you had a few months ago. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...0-best-place-buy-hood-front-bumper-cover.html
that is what i thought, but the people at toyota and statefarm both didn't think so becuase the only thing that got damaged in the accident was only body nothing in the engine bay or under the car. it just all happened with really bad timing i guess.
That's a really tough spot to be in. Are you getting a new one from the dealer or salvage? There is an independent shop listed in the hybrid directory in Columbia, MD. Preferred Independent Hybrid Car Repair and Service Shops | Hybrid Cars
WHOA didn't know that!! Thank you i'm going to give them a call as i was qouted from teh dealership 5300 for a new tranny installed or 1200 if i bring them the tranny... Columbia woul dbe a bit of a drive but to save money i'm will to do that
$1200 isn't horrible, given that the dealership is willing to install a part that you have sourced (rare). Let us know how it works out. Reviews of independent shops are always welcome.
took it in last night... the dealership is working on it today and should be done in a couple of days.... i just can't wait to have a fully working car again.
