Am wondering if the 4kWh kits are upgradable to say 8kwh later??

So. . .there is/was no 'winner' as to who's cheating anyone, or even whether anyone at all has done anything wrong to anybody? Ok, then, sorry for getting it backwards maybe. It interests me because the 15kWh usable SUV pack would be great for us ...

    Scott,
How will that compare with the new Prius Plug In due out in the spring?

The 2012 PHEV Prius will have less EV range (smaller large pack), less mixed-mode range...most likely more highly engineered and backed by the maker...bottom line, at least for me: Too little, too late.

Good questions over here not being answered:

Why is the speed limit on the prius III EV 57 MPH and the prius II 74 MPH?

The pack is not upgradeable. Once you get the 4KW kit, you're stuck with 4KW kit. There's no 8KW kit. The 4KW kit uses headway's 40160s 16ah cell. The 10KW kit uses 40ah cells. You would have to find 32ah cells in order to get 8KW.
I think you mean the speed difference between Gen II and Gen III and not Prius II and Prius III. I personally prefer the low speed EV over high speed EV because at high speed EV, you need some serious current to sustain the high speed. The battery will drain quickly. At lower speed, the electric motor won't pull as much current so your battery pack retains its charge longer.
