OK, I saw the similar thread 2010 Owners With The Lowest Mileage and it caught my attention. A couple months ago at our Portland HSD Meetup Group meeting, I asked a question about 40,000 mile maintenanced on a 2010 Prius and a mechanic there stated no 2010 Prius had reached 40,000 miles yet. Well, I can tell you of at least one (I beleive it was the second or third to be delivered in the Portland area on May 20, 2009, that has topped 40,000 miles. Sadly, it is mine. I hate long commutes.

Who has the most miles on their 2010 (or 2011) Gen 3 Prius?

Bought in October of 2010 and have been relentlessly piling up the miles. We already have 4,500 miles on her and she is no worse for the wear. No, this isn't a typing error, we are retired and live in a small Virginia community. Every 2 or 3 weeks we go to the local gas station and have to spend $10-15 to fill her up with gas.

I think I got you all beat - we took delivery of our 2010 at the beginning of August 2009. It received last week its 85,000 mile service.

I'm very happy to report that apart from some fit problems with the aftermarket leather interior (all resolved by September 2009), EVERYTHING that has broken on this car has been broken by ME...

Front air dam and underpan plus some structural sheet metal from running over a piece of truck tire.

Front bumper cover when I slid into the back of, of all things, an SUV.

Front dome light lens from whacking it with my briefcase.

The car has been amazing. Brake pads are 75%, hasn't lost a drop of oil, coolant or brake fluid. I've replaced the OEM tires (prompted by the bumper thump) and wiper blades, the air filter and bought a set of the WeatherTech rubber mats for the front.

That, gas and dealer maintenance have been the ONLY things I've bought for the car.

On top of that, lifetime mileage is around 52mpg.

I couldn't be happier with the car, even with the minor squeaks and rattles it's developed.

I'm hoping to make it last until we can replace it with a Plug-in Prius in a few years!

That sounds great we are at 42.5k now and will be doing about 15k a year from now on.

Out of curiosity have you had the tranny fluid drained/replaced and inverter and coolant for the ICE drained/replaced?

I have 70,000 miles on my 2010. Zero repairs.

I feel bad for all the suckers that fell for the extended warranty. It is a Toyota, it does not break!!!

Wheels. Nope. Looks like tranny is lifetime unless it leaks. Inverter and engine coolant is at 100,000 miles. Spark plugs at 120,000. Looks like that, oil, air filter and PCV valve are about all you can do to the engine, which is fine with me!

I DO need to replace the cabin air filter, though... :)

For sure, though I DO kind of wish I had sprung for the pre-paid maintenance (ToyotaCare didn't come out until after all the recalls and bad PR).

So glad to hear of so few problems in so many miles! Like most complex production items, every now and then a bad one gets through (example: Audis. They're either the most incredible car built or a disaster, no middle ground). It seems to be pretty infrequent with Toyotas, though.

I thought the trans fluid needed to be changedat some point. Some people on Prius chat did it at 30,000 and others at 60,000. I don't know if that was a Gen 3 or not. Anyone know when and if the fluid should be changed
