    my mod this weekend.
back up camera installed. camera bought from Frys for $25.
while I was installing the camera, I removed the back emblem, so I put in some led in a hurry and got it to work, but not as good as Drunkin Master. (does not cost me much.few bucks).
sorry did not take picture of how to install the leds in the emblem.
will try to take picture for the from one next few days.
will try leds or may be some other light materials.

Nice job Kentwang! The back emblem is a lot easier to do than the front. I know as I've had the back plastic panel behind the hatch door off to see it.

Question: where did you get the 3mm blue LEDs? Would 5mm have worked better?

The back easier. depend on if you are working on the camera, other wise lots of removal.
The front one is very easy if you hand small hand :) .

5mm may work on the front. 5mm will not work on the back.

Can you tell us the brand and model of the backup camera. How does the display hook up and how do you run the line to the display?

I got mine camera for $24.90. Frys make a mistake, mark it for $24.90
    The right price is $29.99
get any brand but get the one with 170 degree
if you get the one like mine, you have to cut the slot for the camera (with hacksaw). this come with a piece of angle spacer, I cut that into 6 pieces, 3 on each side. came out perpect angle, see a little bit of the bumper.
I had Rosen HU. (had to buy the rca video cable from clutchfield for the camera).
I ran the video to the hu,
tap into the back up light plus ran a power wire from the back up light to the HU to activate the screen on my HU.

    Useful information from Glowire.com
"GLOWIRE consumes very little draw on the battery. A 30 foot section of GLOWIRE at 2000hz draws less than 200 mA.

We have several different drivers available, depending on the amount of GLOWIRE you need to run and the brightness you desire. Brightness is directly related to the hz level. The higher the hz, the brighter the glow and inversely, the lower the hz, the dimmer the glow. The brightness also affects the life of the wire. GLOWIRE powered at 4000hz will retain brightness for approximately 1600 hours while 400hz power will last over 5600 hours. Although the wire never does actually burn out, it does become dimmer.

We carry five different diameters of GLOWIRE. General purpose GLOWIRE has a 2.3mm diameter. Heavy duty GLOWIRE has an extra layer of pvc protection along with UV protection and it has a diameter of 3.2mm. Ultra heavy duty GLOWIRE has an even thicker layer of pvc protection and is 5mm diameter. Heavy duty and ultra heavy duty GLOWIRE are strongly recommended for any outdoor use or high stress use.
We have recently added thin 1.5mm GLOWIRE. It has a very thin layer of PVC coating and should only be used in situations where it will not endure harsh conditions or when weight is a factor. We have the thin wire available in 3 of the brightest colors - aqua which looks clear, lime which looks yellow when not lit, and yellow which looks somewhat orange when not lit. It is also available in blue, green, pink, purple, red, and white.

High brightness GLOWIRE has also been introduced recently. It is about 50% brighter than regular GLOWIRE with a shorter life of about 550 - 800 hours. The wire is 2.5mm and is more sturdy than regular GLOWIRE - it holds it's shape more easily. We have high brightness wire available in aqua, blue, green, lime, pink, purple, red, white, and yellow."

Seems the wire and inverters are also available at Amazon, Ebay or search the web.......

Kentwang, the blue sticker inside the emblem makes your blue glowire darker. What is u had used a white glowire which could have been a little brighter and would given a cyanic blue look?
    Is the glowire easily flexible?
    Does it feel hot hot?
What's the thickest glowire we can use on this back emblem?

the diameter of the wire is 2.3mm. Aqua colors.
I think you can go 3mm.
cool neon wire is not that flexible, you can shape it to what ever word you want. you can bend it all the way around to make it paralle. just one time.
you will need 3 feet if you want to have a ring of light for the oval.
I bought 3 feet, got about 4 inches left over thought the hole where I solder to the wires of the driver. I used heat shrink tube to cover the left over.
I dont think there is any heat. the name said it, cool neon :)
the one I got, cool neon dot com said last for 3000 hrs. as time go by the light will go dimmer.

the back emble I used 3 mm led. so 3 mm neon wire would be ok.
I will try to take a better picture with my iphone 4 at ngiht. the picture I took last night was on a iphone 3g, crappy picture at night.
I would prefered leds. cheaper but more work.
who ever in the bay erea want me to do it, I will do it for $25 for the front one. the material already cost me $12. (this is lower than minium wage). just so other people have what I have. :)

Ya but I think I can't do it on the front because of the Radar behind the emblem.
